Captain Canada

Looks like the second meeting of the Bearcat Build Mutual Appreciation Society has taken place ! I've always been a fan of having a thread of completed build pics of individual types. No replies etc, just one spot to see them all and look at differing ideas. We could always post a link to the actual thread as well, as in the Whiffies thread.

We'll have to start a thread and post them all together - a honey-pot of (pooh)bearcats

I've the BearBAT coming along as well, it's finished but I haven't got round to posting/completing the build thread/pictures yet  :banghead:

As a matter of interest - when you search FAA Bearcats on Google, the first image leads here http://www.phoxim.de/forum/index.php?topic=9957.0 Dizzy time again!  ;D
Oh to be whiffing again :-(

Out of the mouths of babes  ;D

Fliiping good idea Capt. Would take some initial setting up however which would be very, very time consuming. Type of job you would have given the "work experience student" back in the day. I will have a serious think about it.

Creating a type-specific whif gallery is not a bad thing - as a kind of "board exhibition" for a quick overview. Would be funny to see how a certain vehicle type has been "interpreted".

Captain Canada

Sounds good Chris. There have been so many great builds in here that I've lost or misplaced lol That would certainly make it easier to find them !

But where does that leave kitbashes of 2 or more kits in roughly equal proportions? :-\

This, for example, which is close enough to 50/50 Defiant/Whirlwind:

There always has to be at LEAST one awkward one to spoil the party!  ;D

Don't hold your breath lads. As I said this would take a serious amount of quite boring work so not sure I want to do it.

However if I did then it would simply be a sub board that would have an aircraft/ship/vehicle/figure type as the individual thread heading and a single picture of each build of that type would be put in there. No comments, probably locked and all controlled by a "supervisor". Initial thoughts it would be a reference section so people could see what others had done to a type. Obviously aircraft and to some extent armour is relatively easier to sort by name of subject - Spitfire/Me 109 : Sherman/Tiger etc.

Hybrid's, kitbashes ? Seriously no idea but possibly based on the major donor or type ? Twin engined propeller aircraft for instance. One of numerous problems that would need a workable solution before starting.

As said no idea if this will ever come about as I would need to commit an awful  lot of time and have a very clear idea of what I wanted to achieve. However it's something for me to muse.

Definitely don't hold it. Did some very quick analysis and there are 2,180 individual builds in the aircraft section alone. Add all the other genres plus GB's and ?????? Huge task, maybe we can set it up for some post grad student to do for his PhD in filing or statistical analysis as it's probably known as now

Far too short, Chris! ;)

It's probably more along the lines of "integrated data discriminatory analysis, filtered multi-classification dissociation & dissemination systems management". :o

Nice job on that, but I think a spinner really improves the look of the Bearcat

Second that, nice job!
I was thinking of building the same kit for the GB, but with a Spitfire spinner on the prop. Might still consider a last minute entry...
