Very nice.

IRL at what sort of distance would the missile have been launched?

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

OOooh yes, a great idea. I like the way the SHAR isn't quite straight and level.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That`s been mentioned a few times on other forums and the simple answer is I haven`t got a big enough lens to do the photo`s if I scaled it all up correctly.....   ;D

IIRC the range of a Sidewinder is approx 2 to 3 miles??

Oh I wasn't nitpicking.  I realised it would have been much much more that shown and figured that was why you had the bases as two separate items.
Maybe if you take these to a show you should put them at different ends of the tables to appease the JMNs?

Maybe even a third base holding a second 'winder? ;D

That`s exactly what I was planning on doing  ;D

Also don`t worry, knew you wasn`t nitpicking about it at all.  <_<

Who was it from 800(?) Sqn who shot down the Mirage without firing a shot? Used up all his weapons on a ground-support mission (including guns), got a Mirage on his tail, VIFFed & got on the Mirage's tail, when to guns-on (I think it was) to scare the bugger, then the Mirage pilot punched out.

My latest bit of non whiffery is now complete......, (he says in a Darth Vader voice.....)

On the 18th May 1988 Rich Lepman, a US exchange pilot assigned to the Tigers, was lined up on the runway at the annual APC at RAF Akrotiri with his back seater Steve Smyth. They were part of a pairs take off for the sortie flying F-4J(uk) ZE362/V with a standard gun pod fitted. The start of the take off sequence went smoothly and as normal, but just as the Phantom went into V1, the front canopy detached much to the surprise of the crew. They then had to flying around for 20 minutes Phantom Cabriolet style until the runway was cleared of debris and a normal landing was made.

Thank you all for the comments and I`ve now finished my display builds for this year`s 74 Sqn reunion dinner.

All pretty self explanatory involving so won`t bore you with the details.

Lightning is 1/48 while the Spit`s are in 1/72.

Now to crack on with the Whiffies........
