The Wooksta!

You clearly do not understand Colin's brief.  It's not about what YOU want, but what would appeal to more people, thus making said conversions PROFITABLE.

A simple one off, geared to go with a mythical Lincoln kit, is not what Colin wants.  It is neither small, nor profitable.

Why didn't they just fire the AMRAAMs directly from the carrier? It has about 20 miles range anyway.....

I believe that was looked at too. They definately looked at launching multiple cruise missiles from the A400M and the Nimrod AEW.4, and the latter could also carry up to 12x AMRAAMs on it's wing pylons.

The Avro Lancaster ASR III with lifeboat might be a better option to consider as the Lancaster is a popular model to build in 1/72 scale.

Doesn't, or didn't, Flightpath do an Airborne Lifeboat in resin?

You rarely see such models at shows, it's ages since I saw one anyway.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I'd be happy with a re-run of the brimstone sets in 1/48 scale. rarer than hens teeth to get anywhere and I've looked just about everywhere.
I think I'm gonna need a bigger display cabinet!!

Mosquito bomber canopies in 72nd with the blown side panels rather than the blisters.  And geared to go with the Tamiya kit!

I know that Paragon do the Boeing SB-17G search &rescue variant in resin 1/72 and 1/48 scale . There is a 1/72 SB-17G kit in plastic.
You might be able to use the parts on the Academy or Airfix B-29. Which I suppose could also be fitted to the Academy B-50 and C-97..
What about the Boeing E-7 Wedgetail conversion set, this would make an interesting alternative to the Nimrod AEW  in 1/144 scale and 1/72. The Wedgetail radar lends itself to many possibilities without having to buy the complete kit.

The Lifeboats used by the SB-17 and SB-29 were different. I know as I have the Academy SB-17 kit and the DB Resin SB-29 conversion.
