OK gents this is the place for your general chit-chat.

Note the build does not open until 1st October

I'll start first.

I'm new here and loving every minute of it. This is the first GB I've ever done and I'm really looking forward to busting out the kit and getting under way. I've commandeered decals from a plane that isn't remotely what I'm going to put them on. I have the paints and stuff I need on hand and am 100% prepped to begin. I've written "Open Oct. 1" on my bag o' decal transfers.   ;D

In MY world, the kit is complicated and the most technical build I've taken on; seams and stuff to handle. Going to be filling, filing, and sanding (which I'm not very good at but I've been practicing) quite a bit I think but I'm ready for a challenge. I think there's just enough time for me to take one of my low quality kits with terrible fitment and tons of flash and practice some more so that I can hone my skills before the 1st.

I'm also working on a really neat story to go with my airplane. I'm taking elements from science fiction in general, actual pseudoscience (the "science" may be bunk but it's a real world topic), and lastly a cinematic universe from a certain movie that was released in the very early 80's.  Definitely WHIF.

This is going to be fun!

No, and I did not start anything, either. But a pair of kits is already within reach - even though there's still enough time for some other builds until the GB officially opens. ;)

The Tribeau is planned in my head and in a rough sketch and the bits are all in one box (except whatever I need to make the spats).  Colour scheme remains TBD.

Anything else I build i'll spitball.

Flyer

Airfix Brewster Buffalo scale-o-rama'd to 1/48 is my plan for the GB. Also have loose parts for a complete unbuilt Matchbox Buffalo and a almost complete NOVO Vultee Vengeance that's just missing it's fin and rudder...

I think the Kit its from the relay 80.
I don't find the first release in the net.
I will build it on a Asteroid base, With the Mobil armor and the Tank in the kit.

While checking something out for Mossie I find I have a Revell 1/72 P.26 in it's 1967 boxing. Just need to figure what to do with it. F.A.A. ?

It's small enough to fit on a carrier lift WITHOUT folding the wings!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Glad there was a silver lining, cheers mate!  Ideas:

Russian, pre-lend lease?  Might turn heads comparing it to a Rata, especially if you can find a deeper cowl that fits.

Aeronavale, on-board the Béarn.

Manchuria or Japanese, captured Chinese airframes.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Here's the detailed and accurate engineering drawing from which I will build my Tribeau (working name Bristol Beaumaris).

It'll be a pre-war passenger & freight aircraft.
