OK this is where to put your finished builds
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The late WW2 German vehicles designed with the express purpose of evacuating the Fuhrer and a significant amount of gold.  At this late stage in WW2 it was clear that no manufacturing capacity was available for new vehicles.  Thus only damaged vehicles returned from the front were used.  Panther hulls mounting SdKfz 234 Puma turrets and other SdKfz 234 modified to become 6x6 APC/cargo carriers.

The Ozelot

The SdKfz 234/9 (6 Rad) and SdKfz 234/10 (6 Rad)

Perhaps a reminder for folks to include a title, builders name, limit it to 3 photos and provide a link to the the build?  Makes it easier to go through when it comes to the voting!  Thanks!

Modelling_Mushi

Hello all, here is the first one from me. It is the Albatros DVk autogyro. Airfix 1/72 in Gunze acrylics plus kit decals.

Build thread is here http://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php/topic,42838.15.html and it has a few more photos in it, plus an Albatros double!

No real backstory as such, just thought it would look good.

It does, very good.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

"Welcome to the Air Show, ladies, gentleman and deep space entities!

We are pleased to introduce the world's first private Flight Demonstration Team, the all volunteer group, AVG Sunblazers!

On display today is Flight Captain Allen Gaines' de-militarized, souped up, and modernized Yak-9.

Enjoy the show.... look for the AVG Sunblazers to take to skies shortly!"

It was a Yak-9 by Airfix. A bagged kit. The third release of this kit, in the second year of production, mine was put out in 1964 and the tool was first struck in 1963. So, this thing is bout 53 years old!  I'M not that old!   :o ;D As far as being the first or only private/civil Flight Demonstration Team...well.. I could be wrong about that but I did a little research and couldn't find anything. Seems like everything is gov't sponsored or some such.  If there are any civil FDTs or private FDTs I'd like to know about them.

Anyway...

#2 is done and ready to be logged.

I decided to make this airplane a strange result of a time traveling incident. In the movie The Final Countdown, the carrier Nimitz is transported from back in time from 1980 to 1941. Little did we know, then, but the time vortex that swallowed up the Nimitz also opened up on the other end of what we now recognize as "Vile Vortices."  As luck would have it, on the other end of the Pacific, a MiG-27 was in flight over the ocean near Manchuria. Due to entering the vortex minutes later than the U.S. carrrier, the MiG was transported to 1951 rather than 1941. Due to instrument failure and low fuel state, the Soviet pilot was forced to put down on mainland Japan were the pilot and craft were seized by United States military forces.

Unlike the Nimitz, the pilot and MiG were  unable to make it back to their proper period in time.

One thing leads to another and the Americans spend the next few years studying, disecting, and reverse engineering the MiG. Much like with the B-29/ Tu-4, it was decided to clone this aircraft and begin production. The newly American Made aircraft were designated F-110B and given the moniker "Vulture."  The rest is alternate history!!!

(not very good at writing this stuff, but pretty good at fine lines of BSing!  )

Well, here she is. This was the 70's era Hasegawa kit. All the innacuracies and stuff work out great because.... slight modifications in the "cloning" process. Beautiful how that works out...
