Thanks, bud.  My lil pilot buddy looks neat and as simple as it is, I like my panel and cockpit interior.

I hope to do some more work on it today.   <_<

F-110 was the USAF designation for the Phantom II. After the introduction of the tri-service designation system it became the F-4.

Thanks for catching that!!  I didn't google very well, I guess. I came up with results for every number I tried but when I got to 110 no aircraft of any kind came back for me so I rolled with it. I went and tried again and found some stuff. I'll slap a good ol' B on it and call it a winner.

Thanks! How neat... I wouldn't mind having a go at trying to scratch build one.  It would probably wind up going in the trash but I could try it at least. LOL

It won't be necessary on mine, though, but I wanted to learn what it is.   <_<

Progress! She was tuggin at me heart strings the last couple of days so I managed to get quite a bit done. About an hour of trimming up the sprues and pieces and grinding them smooth.  Sanding and polishing, filling in ejection pin marks, etc.

Ready to slap some primer on a good bit of stuff. Not pictured are three sprue trees with various parts also to be primed.

EDIT :the Sparrow missiles and pylons are being primed at the same time, but they go on my F/U-2 HAWK, not this one.  You know how it goes... two birds...

Bombs and stuff came back about 50/50 on the seems so I skim coated 'em with my correction fluid.

In other news, getting some of the tedium out of the way. Painted and assembled the gear and wheels. Also, painted the windscreen and canopy. I did the windscreen by hand and masked the canopy. I think the turned out pretty good!

That's the control stick atop the nose gear there.... stabs through a hole in the nose wheel interior which doubles as the floor of the cockpit.

Totally!  And every time I start gluing or painting on the crap the mustache attacks my nose or the damn phone rings or something...    ;D ;D  Gotta really hold my hands steady to not butcher all the tiny stuff and that's when all the itchies and bugs and dogs and etc come around. Never fails!   :o ;D

Thanks!

When's the last time you saw a 1950's bare metal MiG 27?

;)

I also painted the swing wings but I have a bit of crazing to address. This paint is finicky as hell.

Also still working on the external stores...  Gaps and stuff to sand down then I can prime all that.

Did the MiG 27 have a stainless steel skin?
Or should I stop sniffing the whiteboard pens and get more sleep?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

And to think we had to put chalk up our noses - youngsters today don't know how easy they've got it
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I don't know, but, this one does! It was manufactured right in the good ol' USA alongside stuff like F-100s.   See.. the story is sort of like a reverse B-29/Tu-4.  America got ahold of a MiG 27 and copied it damn near 100% and began to produce their own right here in our very own factories and with the materials we were already using. See... this thing got transported back in time about 30 years so it was magic new technology and the rest is (fake) history.   ;D
