CDO - Carrier Delivery Onboard?

First of all, let me congratulate you on the kit.  Not a bad price either.
Secondly, did you consider Uranus rather than Pluto?

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

;D ;D

Dude, it was a righteous score. I wasn't going to let it pass me by.

I considered Uranus but there are one too many rings.

Not bad for you, that's only your second entry onto "The List" this year  ;)

You can almost see that coming out of the Avions Marcell Dassault plant  ;D Love the box art

Great potential there already.

a) Where did the canopy come from and

b) What are you going to blank off the 'nose intake' with?

Mustang canopy and I'll use the nose cone from the B-58 pod that came with it. It's pictured there somewhere.  ;D  Just a straight nose cone. Will stay seperate until near the end so I can paint it black and not have to mask it off.

This thing has stuff from all over. Including a number of parts I can't place, I have gear from a 1/100 scale Nitto 707 (oh, that's where the enginges came from too) the tires are from 1/72 scale Phantom kit. Canopy is a 1/72 Mustang. Fuselage is 1/72 B-58 pod. Wings are from 1/144 Caravelle. Fin is from 1/72 F-15.  Not sure where all the cockpit parts came from. Drop tanks and arrestor hook came from aforemention Phantom kit.

Well, today I'm switching things up a little and will try to play some video games this afternoon. Might get bored of that and switch back to models in the evening but I'm switching things around a bit. But, I wanted to quickly get a couple things done on some builds before I fire up the Playstation.

So, the other day I sanded the Caravelle so I could put another coat of black paint on it. I'm following the directions to the letter but this stupid paint crazes up no matter what. It crazes going onto itself, which is ridiuclous. It's not like there's a compatibility issue with different colors, finish, or brand. But....SO FAR...I've found this sorry azz paint to be incompatible with PRIMER, CLEAR , and ITSELF all of the same brand and regardless of following the instructions.  :banghead:

So just what in the hell am I supposed to do with this lousy garbage? I'm going to throw it in the damned trash is what I'm going to do. This paint has messed up my Tristar engines and my Caravelle twice and it even tried to ruin the gas tanks on my Typhoon. It's created problems in the past as well, but oddly enough, it has WORKED in the past, too. Is it possible for paint to GO BAD over time, despite being in a sealed vessel?  All I know is it's pissing me off. Here I am being very careful to adhere to the instructions just to have it go tits up anyway, even though it shouldn't per their own stupid instructions. GRRRR

I'm shelving the Caravelle until I can afford to buy some more paint and sand the thing down AGAIN.   Problem is, availability. I'll have to buy a different brand of gloss black and ... well, since it doesn't match with any of my other paints, it could very well wind up not working, either!  :banghead: :banghead:

I could very well be done with the Caravelle by now if not for this stupid paint. Also, the reason I haven't worked on the Tristar any at all in about two weeks is because of what happened to the engines. I kind of lost enthusiasm after that. So... this evil paint is wrecking more than models at this point, it's wrecking my mood. In fact, I WAS going to start to work on the Tristar again today but looking at these engines has once again fouled the enthusiasm for it. So it goes back on the shelf, too.

So now I have no projects to work on unless I start my glorious Pluto or that little Phantom.  ;D  The 737 is still in idle time and I'm not worried about it. No rush on that one, in fact, on Sept. 1 it will mark one year since I started it.  :o ;D

Well, this is something different. I just cooked up a mess o' Alligator.  ;D

Anyone ever had any? I'm suspecting a real fishy type of thing. I hope it's not chewy.....   Smells a bit weird after cooked. I baked 'em because I gotta watch me cholestorl (my levels are perfect and I aim to keep them that way) so might not be as "good " as deep fried. Hopefully they won't become dog treats.

One last post for now.....      Coming soon to Mikr Mir. Unicraft is no longer the only game in town:

This artwork leaves quite a bit to be desired but.... hey!! The kit!     Nice to have such a strange subject coming.

Only in America....I hope  ;). I've eat some odd things in my travels but not alligator nuggets. ;D

That Caravel's paint issues are crazy (forgive the pun). Especially as you say it's the same brand you are using. Any particular weather related issues ?

I like the passengers in that Micro Mir box art  ;D

How heavily are you putting the paint on?
Sometimes it's impossible to lay down light coats because of the nozzle.  I bought some paint this morning and have had to switch brand because they changed nozzle on my usual one.  It used to be controllable but they now use one which just blasts it out at high volume.  I have a supply of the old nozzles (I clean them and keep them when the paint runs out) but they don't fit the cans.  Old nozzles are female, new ones are male.

I've had crocodile meat.  Very dense and tastes like chicken with a hint of fish.  Didn't think it was anything special and wouldn't bother again.  Had to be tried though.

I find those 'Heavy Duty' nozzles now and then too, and after the first blast I tend to do the spraying at arms length, BOTH arms! And also I do it quickly so the spray pattern passes over the model faster than normal.

It's not a perfect solution, but it saves having to waste a complete can of paint.

These spray like mad. It's basically full on or full off. It doesn't help matters, for sure. I think I may have had a contaminant on the side o fhte Caravelle and that's why that little patch crazed and the rest didn't, though. I will try holding the can further away and try to do less passes and build up coats. True enough, while I've gotten better at it, I still tend to spray too heavy coats sometimes so that definitely isn't helping either.

The Alligator was good!! Better than I was expecting, although nothing I would regularly choose to buy as it is EXPENSIVE. If it were on par with other aquatic creatures in the price range I wouldn't mind having some ever so often.

Have a go at ostrich steak if you can find it, it's REALLY good. They had it here this time last year, but I can't find any now.  :banghead:

I had a Zebra steak a few years ago at a local pub. Difficult to tell whether it was well done with all those black and white stripes running through it! ;D I'll get my coat...
