Just discovered this most glorious of airliners. "Airliner."

Columbian air force?

Does it have hidden smuggling compartments?

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

They blanked off ALL the windows, so then whole fuselage is a smuggling compartment.  ;) ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Hell, even the paint job has mounds of powder at the bottom!

Tristar is masked! Next up is to spray the glorious NMF paint and go purchase some nitrile or latex gloves.  ;D

I'll paint it tomorrow. Took a good while to actually get this stuff on and it's near 6PM and the weather is too windy outside.

Managed to get a lot done yesterday. Learning more as I go. I'm not a huge fan of masking but I'm picking up tricks and each time things are getting easier. I found a really nifty trick last night for getting tape cut perfectly along the bottom of a clear piece. I just wrapped it over the edge, burnished it down like mad, then took my big metal file and rubbed along the edge and it cut through the tape and when I removed the excess it made a perfect line!

Been in a lot of pain lately(pulled muscles and pinched nerve) and it's distracting but it broke yesterday and I feel 100% better. It allowed me to get things done and use my mind to focus.

So that's two masking projects that were giving me anxiety knocked out in one day and it's time to proceed. F-16XL will have the canopy glued on and primed and the Tristar will have the NMF sprayed on and later on we'll remove the masking and see what she looks like. I also need to make the little bulge thingy behind the nose gear and paint all the gear doors but after that it's basically just a matter of getting it the transfers on and lastly gluing on the gear and gear doors. In short... I see the light at the end of the tunnel on this one. I'd say I should have it down within a couple weeks but if I really kicked it in gear could probably finish it in about a week. About time to consider that lounge again...

Probably will work some more on the 737. I need to get that nose fixed but I have a good plan that I'm confident will work but I may need to remove some of the decals up there that aren't sitting right.. I don't know... this thing, in prime form, is still kicking my arse and I imagine it will until the very end...

Got one of my UV things in the mail today. Neato. The thing comes off the top so it's easy to hold (instead of the whole, pen, base, and all, which could prove unwieldy in tight spots). Came with battery for the light.

The liquid stuff smells like certain varieties of plastic things. Trying to place it.... perhaps some toys I've had over the years had this smell and is why it seems so familiar. The good part about the liquid is its viscosity. Using CA as a reference, it's not runny like regular kind and not as thick as the gel kind. It's a beautiful mid point! I really like this aspect of it. Might seem trivial beforehand but I guarantee you that in situation the ability to move it where you want & no further will be great. Not like TET where it runs a mile away instantly and not too thick that it can't be manipulated.   Lastly, the glue bottle itself is nice. It has two tiers of threads. You can unscrew the top cap and use the applicator or you can unscrew them both to reach directly into the vessel. Handy! (although, I find the hole in the applicator a bit large but perhaps it has to be this size to flow out properly)

Now, for the nitty gritty....  I cut a piece of sprue in half then cut another chunk off the end of one piece so the ends wouldn't match then I put the goo on and then intentionally held it at a bad angle.  I put on a wee more than I wanted but no more than I would had I used CA then I zapped it for 7 seconds and........voila!  The light really activated that smell I was talking about earlier but the thing we're interested in is the quality of the bond and I can say IT IS GOOD. I picked it up and tried to break it apart again (not too much though, naturally, but I wrenched on and was pretty rough with it) & CA or any other glue would have given up instantly not to mention having to brace it for the next 20 minutes. It held together!! This stuff is amazing! It could only be better had I properly prepped my pieces and attached them correctly.

You know... a lot of people will miss this information since it's here. I think I'll make a review thread for it in the products forum so as many people as possible see it. I figure at least 2-3 people would be interested in this nifty product.

But anyway! I got the NMF sprayed on the Tristar. I guess we're in it to win it now; no turning back. If I screwed up the masking somehow..... at this point.... it will be very difficult to correct. Once this NMF paint is on the whole ballgame changes. In fact, aside from unmasking it, I'm not even going to touch it again until I get some gloves.

I can't wait to unmask it.... all the colors together finally will be great! I still have some detail painting to do like nav lights, gear bays, and exhaust but all the main painting is certainly out of the way now.

Cheers for that info on the UV curing glue mate

It certainly looks as though it will do the job I want it to.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Unmasked Mother Grinningbird.  I have a lot of edge burnishing and paint thinner cleanup to do. I'd say the masking work was about 80% successful. This whole paint scheme and masking stuff is just beyond my capabilities but not so much that I don't think this won't work! I'm learning new stuff so the next time I do a big airliner with swooping paint it'll be easier and come out better. For this one.... well... I bet I can clean up the little bleed areas and stuff just fine and it'll be a nice airplane in the end.

I'm just going to dump this in here and see what y'all say.

I found it with no credit or information. It's ridiculous and stupid as hell so I love it.

zenrat

That's ridiculous.  If it flies slowly enough for the slip stream not to bother the passengers then its going to take forever to get across the atlantic.  It needs cafe blinds across the front to keep the wind out.

Wow! Now that's a "flight of fancy" if I ever saw one! Just the drag from all those railings would keep it firmly earth bound. Not enough room here to list all the things wrong with that.
Interesting pic showing some of the thinking back in the day about what the future would look like.
Thanks

Most of the props would do nothing at all. Well, aside from making being on deck miserable.  ;D

Belated congratulations for your quick P-51B, so well done.

Thanks, bud! Republic of Ustio if you want to look that up. Video game stuff.
