Primed up. I can start painting it now I guess. I still need to work on the weapons and fuel tanks. I primed those but I didn't get the seams right. Also, I think I might want to knock down some of the seams on the plane itself. It looked alright before I primed but I guess I forgot to sand some of the leading edges.

That's why we prime, to find those pesky problems!
Sounds like not too much trouble to fix.

Yes sir! It's like a magic... reveal-y thing. Sometimes I think I'm wasting my primer by using it only to turn around & mess it up again but the assistance it lends is well worth it.

In this case, it has revealed a rather proud seam along both sides of the nose area leading into the wings which leads me to believe that I completely forgot to sand those areas.  ;D

Win some... lose some...

EDIT:  Oh man, Oil Spill Response appears to be a 100... a classic, with the eyebrow windows!

It's a -200 actually. Full info here :-

Just type OSRA in the data entry box.

Far out, thanks!!!  I was mistaken; it looked so short to me.  I love these old birds...  1984!  I think that's actually pretty NEW as a 727 goes though.  ;D

I was thinking about building one of mine the other day... I want to build up one of my Post Office birds. I better stay on target with the two I have going right now, though.  ;D

From the front you can tell a -100 from a -200 by the intake on the #2 engine. On a -100 it's oval, taller than wider, and on a -200 it's circular.

Having said that, there are a few -100s that had their engines uprated and had the new intake fitted at the same time, mostly the South American airlines did that IIRC.

Brilliant!  I was aware of this nuance but I didn't know which was which. Now I know!  I'll probably forget again after a little while but that's life I guess. It's my favorite or second favorite jetliner. I've been saving up my kits of them for "something special" so I haven't gone through all the requisite research. Ironic that as one of my favorites, I probably know less about it than many others. Hell, it's the only jetliner I've ever rode on, too.  ;D

The inside of my Tristar.

Atrocious!  ;D

Speaking of... I looked at mine a little bit yesterday and what I found wasn't good... I'm going to just have to remove some of my masking and try to fix things then re-mask and go in one last time with the NMF.  Lesson learned here was to use the right tape for curves.

The 737, however, is now back on track. I've finished repairing the nose paint work and did the best I could with scraps of decals and mostly paint.

Before and after. You can see there how I cheated with the green. By starting at that little pinch point the differing shades aren't nearly as noticeable like they would have been were they directly aside one another. The clear coat will darken it up, too, and even everything out. I also found a bit of uneven sliver paint back on the fin so I correct that as well. Now she's ready for some coats of clear to get everything sealed in and protected then it'll be time to mask off paint the bottom.

Thanks, bud! Sure works for me. It ain't perfect, but I don't require it any longer. It's going to look just fine!

Your 737's coming along very nicely indeed.

And the paint job you did on the interior of the Tri-Star is awesome.................  ;D ;D ;) ;)

I'm just going to dump this in here and see what y'all say.

I found it with no credit or information. It's ridiculous and stupid as hell so I love it.

Why am I imagining that as the setting for an Agatha Christie Novel ? Probably Hercule Poirot, but possibly Miss Marple on a convalescent trip funded by a wealthy nephew or niece. How many of them she actually had I've no idea  ;D
