I can stretch sprue, though I tend to be better at making antenna wire and not much else really useful, unless I have a good day.
And getting a constant diameter is a knack I haven't learned either.

Oddly I used to be relatively good at it, but recently I've failed miserably  :-\ If I want really thin rod then I dig into my stocks of various Evergreen products.

Yeah, I prefer commercial products - cheap, consistent and way easier! I use Slaters packs.

I made a post here at some point with my results. I couldn't believe I took to it so well. I figured I'd mess it all up, curse, and give up. It's one of those weird things like blowing glass... just gotta get a feel for it, there's no real solid ... like... points at which you manipulate the stuff. There's no "do 20 seconds of this and hold it precisely 20mm above the flame..." I've use some already but I made three different "gauges" of it... the thin stuff there is thinner than human hair and the length of is 11 inches long!  :o  It'll work as aerial antenna it's so thin.

I was going to back up my "hair" claim but... TYPICAL... I just shaved all mine off! Or... well, it's too short to use for this.  ;D  BUT, I do have a hair from mama....   she's 89 and her hair is really thin but it'll work. So, it's not thinner than her hair, but it's thinner than mine.  ;D

In other news..... I THINK all the stuff I did to get on unemployment has worked..... that's a huge relief, I need tires for one thing but I've blown my savings down to the point where a "figure" is about to fall off.....

Nea work with the stretching Zac  and glad to hear it looks as though the unemployment claim is proceeding ok

I got the Evergreen eons ago and I need to restock when shows start up again and Slaters might be easier to get

Cheers!  With the way my luck goes, I'm not sure I believe it, but according to them they put $489 on a card and the card arrived yesterday so who knows.  ;D    I'll have to check it somehow soon but this going to help out big time.

BIG news today.....  I am HOPING to get the 737 finished today. It could happen but motivation is fleeting, energy hard to find, and time in short supply but I got all the painting finished yesterday. It's not perfect but it's decent enough that I don't want to take all the steps necessary to make it better. If memory serves.... the only decals left to apply are door outlines and emergency exit outlines. After that, it's just down to gluing on the fiddly parts.

YEAH GOOD GOIN THERE. I said all that crap then didn't so anything at all with it.  ;D   Wasn't feeling too great yesterday and decided to just do some work instead. I was outside doing yard work and getting all the lawn equipment going. It's all ready to rock! Someone could call me right now and I could be on their lawn cutting in within 30 minutes. Even less were I already dressed for it.  ;D   Did some other things, too... dragged my compressor out... 10 gallon or whatever. I haven't ran it in a couple years so it needs to run. I'll run it, clean it real well, try to drain the tank if necessary... then I have a bunch of tires needing aired up so between all this it'll get a good workout. Also going to try this new batter powered leaf blower I bought.

AHEM...  my main focus today, however, is to GET THE 737 FINISHED ALREADY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.  ;D   I forgot to mention yesterday but I need to paint the wheel wells..... and the uhh.. thing on the nose gear.. gravel plate fairing thing...   but all the rest is going to get done. I hope it goes well. I'm ready to get onto something new. Police plane and 727 are two new projects I'd like to start and also still investigating the reverse-kitbash from the leftovers of the Valon.

Thanks!!  It went pretty well today. Got the wheel well painting done and made the vortex dissipaters. Got the last transfers on. I'll wrap it up tomorrow.... all I have now is to paint some gear doors, apparently, then glue them and the other fiddly bits on.

So sick of this thing.  ;D

Thanks! It's a pet project so it's good to hear. Been at it since Sept. 2018 so it's going to be one hell of a deal finally finishing it off. Lots of custom crap on here, despite the simplicity of the 737....... and it has whooped me arse up and down the street and 'round the block and back again. Cursed? Perhaps!!!  Never in all my time has a build fought so hard against me... daring me to try to build it. Going to have to burn some sage around this joint after it's done to keep the demon that is inhabiting if from getting pissed off that it no longer can taunt me from the shelf whilst gathering dust.

Easy now Brad C.  If it is cursed then you have to be particularly carefull about now as it'll lull you into a false sense of security, let you think you are going to finish it, and then...

:banghead:

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

 ;D ;D

Too true, brotha. Should be less than an hour to get this thing wrapped up but I'm going to hedge my bets and say, "I plan on getting it done by the end of the month."      ;D

One thing that ought to help is the fact that I am not going back to fix anything that's going wrong with it and ... plenty has just recently but oh well! None of it is so bad to just wreck the whole thing but had I not accumulated so much time on this thing I'd likely go back and fix some of this stuff.
