Congrats on the Mitsu, looks gorgeous! I think the canopy looks ok, doesn't detract from the overall result.
I also like the Galaxy, quite a sleek design for it's type and size. I'm starting to find some interest in some of those big beasts, one of these days, i might even end up buying and building one myself...

Sir Terry and I disagreed on this although I think my way is better.  I wish I could have had a chance to debate it with him.

Met, chatted and drank with the man a few times at Conventions and believe you me he would have happily debated the issue with you  Indeed I can even see the germ of an idea for an alternative religion forming in his mind from your original interpretation.

Lens is fine, just as clean and same one as got the Mitsubishi pictures. I've learned recently, though, that getting real close to a subject makes the camera go wonky and take bad pictures,. Had to get pretty close to the Galaxy.  Also, bright colors seems to have an effect... you can see the camo there in the one pictures isn't all blurry and hazy while the white is. Those two combined did the camera in I guess. This camerphone is actually quite old now and not that sophisticated so I'm probably trying to squeeze blood from a rock here anyway. I'm going to buy a dedicated digital camera soon. Imaginge the opulence!!!

YES, do build a big giant airplane. It helps if you cheat by buying one in a small scale because then there ain't so many pieces.    In fact I'm going to start getting into 1/144 stuff now, in keeping with my "whoa I don't have the space for this big stuff!!" theme and for the fact that that's where all the AIRLINERS live.     I'm dying to get my hands on and build some airliners.

Womby, believe it or not, the Galaxy is a real world build! They actually had them flying around looking like this.      Albeit not for long, it was a "transitional" thing. New plane parts were coming from the factory pre-painted in the new camo scheme and were bolted on to the planes before THEY were painted... so you had all these mistmatched planes in various states of transition. I thought it was terribly cool looking so I had to go with that. Less boring, too!



Up next, I check on my newly casted nozzle for the Vanquish and either try again or get to trimming them up. I can do this at the same time I put transfers on. This thing will be done pretty soon.

I remember when I was a kid these would fly by about 6 blocks up the road (uhmmm.... about 1200 feet away) and loooooooow because the end of the runway was just a mile away. They would always do touch and goes... they could never land there. But it was so awesome watching these do touch and goes... it looked like they would fall out the sky because they're so large... it makes them look like they were going about 30 MPH.     Anyway... most of them were the camo jobs  (this was about 1987 and a few years after) but eeeeeever so often one of these "white" ones would go by! Since they were much more rare I thought they were "special" somehow and I really liked how they looked. Perhaps some of these had the new wing blocks and radome bits. In fact, it's almost guaranteed!

Watching the Antonov An-124's landing at YYC (Calgary International) gives me the same impression TCO ---- or the 747's for that matter.

Watching B-36s land at Brize Norton in the 50s always made me think the Earth had stopped rotating. Goodness knows why, but it felt truly weird.

I was always mesmerised by the B-52's flapping their wings as they came in to land at Darwin Airport/RAAF Darwin, like some bloody great bird!

A thrill each and every time I imagine!  If I had something nearby where I could set up and watch planes like that I'd probably end up spending too much time doing so.    The last time a Galaxy came through here was some time back in the mid to mid-late 90's; whenever it was they left Altus AFB.   

I've taken to watching Youtube clips when I'm itching for a Galaxy fly over. The "older" vids are usually the best. I steer clear of the C-5M videos, however.    (well, not really  ) It's just not the same with the new, quieter engines!
