Not sure how much will get done, but, at least I have some sort of a plan.

It's good to have a plan

.....even if things don't conform to it.

What's a "Plan"?

Chaos Wombat~!!!

Speaking of plans again...   ;D     My plan for yesterday went out the window. I was more concerned with not moving much. Trying to get rid of this muscle strain/pulls. I was pretty tired anyway so....  I'll just do what I planned for yesterday today I guess.

To that end, the appliance white epoxy paint is warming up for use on the 737. I still haven't looked at it yet to make sure it's OK looking as far as the finish but I'm pretty positive it is.

Otherwise painting on the helo!

(I'm starting to sound like a broken record here... )

Nice! I've managed to get all the cockpit pieces painted. I just need to paint the inside walls of the fuselage halves. Also, the rotors are painted.

P......L.......A.......N......?
What that?
Planning is for work - although customers have the same effect on a plan as The Enemy.

I like to play my hobby by ear.  I find if I try to work to deadlines and plans I rush and stuff things up.
I just need to make sure I start things early enough to finish on time.

I agree. My hobby plans very seldom have deadlines, just a simple structure as to what I'm going to work on during the coming week. If I don't succeed, then it's not a problem, but sometimes you get more done then you thought and it's

I gave up most deadlines when I retired. Spent 40 years working towards to many of the so and so's set by other people which were nye on impossible to meet :banghead:

Deadlines suck, plans rock.   ;D    I avoid deadlines like the plague. Only ones I tolerate are the GBs.

Plan for today....   work on the helo. Going to leave it at that for now. I will clear coat the interior parts then I need to paint the inside of the fuselage halves then I can glue the interior in and finally load it with nose weight.

Lots of stuff was done to it the other day....   rotors are all painted, all the interior junk is painted. It took me awhile but it all got done and I'm slowly making progress again.

Working on the helo. It's going so very slow, however.

I have the interior parts all finished off and glued into the stbd. fuselage half.  Main rotor and blades stuff is all finished as well (including bending it to make it look correct for sitting on the ground; I'm a rather mediocre modeller, but I'm not THAT daft!  -Can't be having no plank lookin rotors. ;D ).

Right, so now I'm at the point where it's time to add weight to it. Having played around a bit, I think I'll just glue the halves together then I can just pour the weight in through the top whilst keeping the nose pointed toward the ground. This appears to be much easier than adding weight to two individual halves. Instructions call for 5g. I've no scales, so I'll guess. This works because the engines and upper/middle part of the fuselage attach separately so there's a nice, large, hole for me to dump weight into.

In other news.... if by some miracle I find myself finished with this, and looking for another project for this GB, I have this in mind.....  perhaps weaponized:

Kamov Ka-137.  Kind of boring to go with yet another whirly-bird, BUT..... this is pretty fascinating so justified. Imagine the possible variants..

Uber_Eats on steroids, for when you just gotta have that full rack of slow-cooked pork ribs with ALL the trimmings ... & an apple pie for dessert? ;)

Amazon armed escort for when their delivery drones start getting knocked off?

Or maybe the drone that does the knocking off ?

I was checking this little feller out some more and it turns out it runs on a two stroke engine. Mixing oil into gas like a weedeater, bruh?  ;D    Anyway....

Pictures 'n stuff and a little information. Spied this on the way to the wiki. (which turns out t be very short on the actual "story" of it)

How about one of these deployed by ground units......  Wouldn't need to have a large fuel capacity (as it obviously can't fit it) this way. It could be launched by ground infantry or soldiers in mechanized units for surveillance and then, get fancy and hang some anti-tank or even possible anti-radar missiles on it, depending (would the missiles be too heavy, even just one or two?). I'm betting when I start reading up on this ping-pong ball that the soviets were also thinking of these things.

Westland had a similar idea back in the mid '70s with the Wisp, which still exists in the Helicopter Museum across the Severn from me.

See this vid, but it's doesn't fly, just gets talked about.

In this one it does fly though.

Note the squaddie starting the engines with a MONSTER electric drill at around 1:00!  :o

I noticed in the first video when asked, he said the civil uses could include things like foresty and NOT things like "bringing cheeseburgers to fat Americans."  Interesting how things change over the decades.

Looked like a hammer drill!  :o ;D   I wonder why it took so much to start the thing?! This gives me an idea about my riding lawn mower.... Starter went out... new one is over $120 (faint - I remember buying them for CARS for about $35) but hell, I could just weld a spindle to a thick drill bit and fire it off that way.  ;D ;D  $120.... pft.

Oh. ... yeah, anyway....  this 45 year old tech isn't that far removed from the consumer grade drones that are all over the place these days....   not sure if that is a credit to the people on the Wisp team or a discredit to the process that took 45 years to to get where we are now.

Not that much has changed, true.  Except the ones now are controlled from a mobile phone you can stick in your pocket.  Not from a desk it takes two grown men to lift.
Thats where all the development has been, in the computing, electronics and batteries.

Yeah, you got it!! I got a kick out of that desk.....   ;D    When they first pulled it out, I was thinking, "oh, look, the got the entire system in that nice convenient box!"  Turns out, it was just the remote.  ;D

Update - nursing my wounds and slowly working on the helo. Sanding/filing down seams and about to glue the engines on.
