You don't say?!? Hell, I'll get on that! I just scored a Revell DC-10 so it would be nice to have its counterpart!

I'm going to start looking for one now.

Any idea where to find the PSA decals?? I've found an older set on eBay but all it has are the "PSA" letters. Literally the entirety of the rest of the scheme has to be masked/painted on. Cheatlines and all that...    So... I need a set with everything, not just the letters.

EDIT: I couldn't find one just yet, but I remember it now. I let one slip through my fingers on eBay once. I have the 747 counterpart.  ;D

IIRC Microscale did some PSA decals on one of their 'multi-aircraft' sheets, but that may be the one you found already.

I'll take a look through the VAST amount of airliner decals I have and see if I have any.

Yup, I found the Microscale ones, thank you. You're right, they're the ones I saw with no cheatlines.  :-\   I need those cheatlines.........   I just can't be trying to mask all that stuff... what a job and I would have difficulty doing it. I've not masked any curves like that so I'd have to buy tape that bends or try to plot it out onto wider tape and cut it out with my knife or something and I'm just not up to the task. Trying to make that little lounge thing is "stretching it" as it is.  ;D

Nice looking sheet otherwise.

I've now checked Draw, AHS, and Joy appears to have some.

Are you sure?

I can't find any 1/144 scale PSA decals for the Tri-Star anywhere on the net. :(

Yeah, check it out! 26Decals, too.   https://joydecals.com/1-144-scale-decal-psa-lockheed-l1011-tristar-laser-decal/

Terrific!  ;D

Google didn't find that one for me, it certainly looks the business. Almost as good as the Court Line scheme.

Note the bulge under the belly of the aircraft, to protect the lower lounge in case of a belly landing IIRC.

Which reminds me I really MUST do a Court Line Beverley!  ;) ;D

With a little work those could be modified into something more appropriate for some of our builds - PSR...

And there will be tons of of it no matter what kit I use so it's not far off the mark.    ;D      We could Call it Poly-Source Retailers and all it does is transport glue, primer, and sand paper.

Making moves on all three current builds.

On the 737 I've repainted it finally. The finish STILL has flaws in it but I'm tired of pissing in the breeze here. After all the decals are on it won't be noticeable anyway and the truth of the matter is that overall it's a pretty nice, smooth, shiny white finish appropriate for a nice clean airliner!

So, with that out of the way I've begun working on modding the engines. They need to be stretch 5mm and then the pylons themselves are to be made much thicker and "beefier" per the ADV and gravel kit set up. For now, everything seems to be going well. I've extended the engines making sure to carefully keep everything not only aligned but maintaining the taper shape/effect of the engine nacelles toward the back. These things go from more tubular to what would be the beginnings of a cone in the back...   kind of tricky.

The gunship is going very well. I feel as though the hardest work is all behind me and I'm definitely more than 50% done. This is the latest picture as of 10 minutes. I haven't even posted this on into the proper thread for it yet.   Sneek peak!  So anyway... I still need to work on some of the De-icer areas but there's not a lot of touch up painting to be done as the masking job worked tremendously well. Right now I'm painting the howitzers and the 4 engine intakes. After that, the bit of straightening on the de-icers is all that's left then I can gloss it.

Lastly, the wee F-4 Phantom of Brithish Caledonian. I'm currently detail painting and getting ready mask it. Going to paint some blue on the tail section and try to fix up the interior a bit then it's just masking the nose and anti-glare thing mainly. Might work some more on the exhaust things and intakes too, I think they need it.

It struck me all of a sudden that these are same scale so why not get a formation pic!

AND HELL, why not?!  Perhaps in this alternate universe the avalanche mitigation company Avalancer contracts with B/CAL for them to use their F-4s as spotters/guides or something?! It's all nuttery anyway!

Maybe the Phantom drops marker flares on the top of the slopes?

I like both of these ideas!

I'd like to actually build a little plane to go with this one at some point but I think something like a Bronco or Skymaster or something would be more apt. Something slow, yet powerful enough, with a high wing.

Plans for today??  Not sure. I've decided to take a day off from work and I've no plans really. I did a bunch of chores and stuff yesterday so I don't feel guilty just sitting around so..... I think I'll break from tradition and not make much of a plan and just see what happens. Models? Video games? Both? Movies?   ;D    It's the start of the month so all the streaming services have new fair so I'll likely just make an afternoon of building models and watching Tele.

I know I need to paint the red tips of the wings on the gunship. I keep forgetting these and I'm in danger of skipping it. I think that is all that remains between me and a gloss coat then on to transfers! I'm actually looking forward to this process this time. The sheet in the kit looks very nice and is quite comprehensive!

Having a love/hate relationship with Eastern Express and this kit...   love the subjects, hate the fitment, love the interior detail, hate the FITMENT, love the decal sheet, HATE THE FITMENT DID APES MAKE THIS?!.

I'd like to start sawing on my Caravelle to make the super stretch Caravelle. I guess I need to get a thread together for it, too. I'm trying to wrap my mind around stagger cutting the halves but with window placement and my inexperience It's just making my head hurt. I think I could do it if I broke out my ruler and took copious notes and measurments.  Things like this tend to confuse me so we'll see, but I think I'm going to try this first one with just straight cuts then reinforce the interior with posts.

F-4 ....   hell I dunno... still gotta mask some stuff but this thing is so damn small some of it is proving to be rather difficult.

So that's a loose plan for today. Things I'd like to work on but who knows what will get done and won't.  ;D

Which is why I keep a small notepad on my modelling desk and once I get to the "finals" on any build I note down the small bits I still need to do, including any touch ups etc, and cross them off once done. It's amazing how many pages these "finals" can run to  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
