Cheers! Hopefully pappy HP 42, god of airliners, is finally appeased and will stop trying to drive me nuts with mishaps.

Became busy busy today working and doing customer relations stuff (and shopping, errands, etc) and it had me home later than I thought. Now I'm running down technical issues in both my XBOX 360 and PS4. Both went tits up the same day!

XBOX ....damn cord won't connect to the controller properly any more, thus, the controller won't charge so now I can use it neither wired OR wireless! I seemed to have found a way to wrap the cord around the controller that puts tension on the connections and they're working for the time being.... Next up, the latest update, 7.02 I think it is, to my PS4 has turned the entire disc system off. Buggy software update; no telling how long before they fix it and I suspect they might not bother fixing it at all! And right before Christmas.... corporate bullshittery... to convince us that our machines are broken and we need to run out and buy a new one OR in order to force us into digital only media. They're already doing all they can to keep search results off of Google and the rest but I found a Reddit thread and I am far from the only one experiencing the same problem.

AHEM...so...anyway, I'm monkeying with all this crap so I'm going to not get a lot done on models today but I'll try to find a little time to get at least ONE thing done, no matter how small.

Thanks, homie!!! I might try a little more today but once again I find myself busier than I thought I would. ;D

Had to do some grocery shopping today. I know it's going to be relatively busy but I was HOPING that being a Monday and that supposedly last Saturday was one of the biggest shopping days of the year would take a bit of load off of the system but heeeeellll no. I never seen Wal Mart so full and the place where I pick up garbage was a travesty as well. All this after a major traffic jam on the freeway. Took about 20 minutes to travel 1000 feet. The police have the section road closed down doing investigation work determining the cause of a REALLY bad wreck that occured yesterday morning, pre sunrise, in very dense fog. I fear that when I get around to checking the news of the day I'll find one or more of the victims had passed from their injuries. ----- I went and checked and no update so that's good news! One person had to take a helo to Oklahoma City but it would seem they're still kicking!

Way off target here.. Yesterday I sanded a bit on the Tristar. About 20 minutes worth. I still have a little to clean up where I let it build up around the masking tape. I was supposed to take it off and reapply before the last coat of paint but I skipped it and am now paying for my laziness. :banghead: ;D

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

;D Yeah!! Then....the short cut becomes a long cut.....

Wings showed up yesterday, by the way. Thanks! The Lysander will come to fruition now, for sure. I have everything I need! I'm looking forward to this one big time.

It's a self tease I guess. I don't know what keeps giving us the idea that we're going to have free time. ;D

Happened again today, in fact. I was going to try to make some time but I'm so sure now, It's almost 2:30 PM and I haven't even finished lunch.

Managed a little more today after all. More transfers.

I'll be on the windows soon. They have two sets I need to overlap to get the windows and the window frames. Then onto doors. I need to decided whether or not to do the alternating colors across the cheatlines or just have them be all grey. Is that an international law or something that they have to be painted that way? With rare exception, that seems to be something done across the board.

The doors are probably painted differently so they can be seen quickly in an emergency, maybe? - easier than trying to spot an outline when you're pushed for time.

PR19_Kit

That's exactly the reason why they're like that yes.

I don't think there are rules about whether they're white or contrasting colours, but they have to be visible, as do the emergency exits too.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Cheers. That's going to be tricky but with my trusty ruler and hobby knife I can get it done. Before, i always just threw a silver or grey or whatever one on there out of laziness but this thing is going to be accurate!

737 Hoverliner

OK... speaking of accuracy... before I got carried away putting the winders on, I decided to dig up some pics of my specific aircraft in the correct time period. The livery actually changed later on including the addition of names on the fin, changing fonts, and the addition of different flags. Mine is the very early version so I could have mistakenly put some of the wrong markings on it...

Also, the ATP airliner example contained three errors! One side has one too many windows and the emergency exits were improperly placed on both sides. My photos of the actual aircraft saved the day this time. One again, the newbie finds the mistakes by pros. ;D

All this took awhile to reconcile then I tried to throw on some silver window outlines and they partially broke up. I didn't do a very good job applying my liquid decal film so I'm going to go back and do it again and try tomorrow. All this stuff ate up my model time for today but it was vital information I needed and just as important as any other aspect of the build so all in all, it was a productive effort. <_<

Next,I haven't been doing a very good job documenting my efforts on the Lysander but I've knocked out quite a bit of little odds and ends. The cockpit interior is mostly in, I just need to build the little station for the gunner and his weapon but the bulkheads and seats are in and allowed to dry up. So... the observer has this machine gun thing but it is showed stowed inside the fuselage with the barrel pointing aft. I suppose there's some slide system that allows the guy to pull it back then swing it outside? This isn't apparent in the pieces I have but I don't think the gun would be much use if it could only fire on the insides of the Lysander. ;D

Lately I haven't bothered with figures but not this time. These guys are so cool. The dude with the case climbing up the stairs..... pretty neat.. so I suppose this might me a diorama of sorts perhaps. Maybe I can slap together a little base for it.

Completely forgot about the DC-9. Like... I forgot I even started it or that it even existed until I saw the fuselage leaking PVA all over my cabinet.

I suppose it's dry enough now and I can clean away the PVA from the seams and go ahead and TET everything together and seal 'er up. With the glue inside dry, it no longer needs to "breathe." Next up I'll check into the paint scheme and determine whether or not to paint the wings seperate or just glue everything together and get on with the show. I also need to see which of the resin parts may or may not need to go on right now. Some will, but if it's something I think I'll break off later, I might save it for the end.

zenrat

During the early war years the RAF had a serious mouse problem and resorted to drastic methods of eradicating them. Acceleration forces and the aircraft climbing after take off resulted in the pesky rodents tumbling to the rear fuselage at which point...
;D

If you mount the wings backwards AND upside-down you'll have a 737 Ekranoplan - The Red Sea Monster.

That's what I was thinking, too!! Couple more engines here and there... some good ol' T-tail and some floaty hull type stuff and BAM we have Persian Gulf Suadia Airlines Ecrapoplan.

TheChronicOne

Some more transfers for the Suadia bird. I also stopped and checked all my other windows and found some with the frame work already attached so this will save a ton of time. I put some decal fix on them and will try to slap them on tomorrow I think.

Also working on the Lysander. I finally stopped to dig out the tailplanes I'm going to use. They need cutting down a wee bit and I might scribe a couple lines on them but they're perfect!! It's funny how rinky-dink 109 parts look when you try to use them on something different. ;D The last thing I need to do is dig out the transfers then I'll have a complete project. Good part is, I didn't have to spend any money that I don't have. I am exceptionally broke right now and no end in sight. Coming up pretty soon it's time to pay taxes. :banghead: It's going to be months before I can buy anything other than paint. About ready for Spring to get here. I love my winter down time so I can get projects done but I just barely make it through with the income I have and being limited by disabilities and having to be home a lot more than a "normal" person would be so I can take care of mama. I'm having thoughts about hiring on a supervisor and a person to work for/with the supervisor then unleashing them both on lawns. My problem is finding someone I trust. That and I'd probably need a second vehicle (which I need anyway) but this should be the end goal for me anyway.... eventually get it to the point where the main aspect of my job is customer relations and scoring new work while my peons ... .er.....crews go out and do all the work. We'll see.

ANYWAY!!! I got off track there. ;D I'm going to do one last thing then put the model stuff up for the day. I'm going to dig out the transfers for the Lysander then I might go ahead and make a thread for it now that I everything straightened out.

NARSES2

Saudi bird is looking good

It is surprising how small the 109 looks, especially the early marks, compared to later WWII fighters. The A's through E's even look "fragile" compared to the later G's.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
