Thanks!!!   Yeah.... the little tail planes and fin are so wee...  I was surprised when I got to comparing them to others. It never really occurred to me before.

Plans for today. Well... hmmm...  I'm feeling a lot better after the holiday blues and have a pretty much open slate today. Weather keeps me from outside projects and most inside chores were done already so I plan to work on every build I have at least a little bit.

Going to START the windows on the 737. No guarantees on finishing but I'd like to get one solid block of windows on each side.

I need to paint a bit on the Lysander (grumble) before I get carried away with more construction. I need to find the decals, too. I was going to do this last night but I had to make an un scheduled trip to the gaming store for a $7 cord.

DC-9....   finish gluing the fuselage.

F-16XL...  uhhh.... back to pondering the loadout some more. Eventually I can start making pylons. Might try to get the canopy masked. I futured it already.

I think that's it?  Hopefully I get most of this at least partially done.

I swapped the XL for the XXXL: Tristar.  ;D  Wet sanded a bunch and now she is ready for gloss and a bunch of transfers.

I also grabbed the DC-9 and finished gluing the fuselage together. I decided to do a little extra and got the wings all cleaned up and glued together, too. Now them and the tailplanes can be painted.

Getting Lysander stuff worked out. I'll go ahead and open up a thread for it now because I have 100% of what a need and a solid (for now) game plan. I still don't have a name but I can figure that out along the way.

Turns out the stuff I planned to use was from an era appropriate AT-6 so they'll work perfectly! In this alternate universe, this particular AT-6 didn't exist and the numbers and junk fell to the wacky Lysander!  ;D

Lastly, I knocked out all the windows on the 737. 33 on one side, 32 on the other. Next round of work will be to start getting the door frames on.

737 is looking good, and the Tristar seems to have stopped fighting you - or the paint part, anyway - mustn't wake Murphy... ;D

TheChronicOne

Hell yeah.  ;D ;D     That's why I left it alone. I WAS going to go ahead and clear it today and even warmed up and prepped the rattle can of it but decided NOT to push my luck.  ;D

If this one continues to get its crap together and go smoothly (and swiftly) I can investigate the lounge again. If the plane itself takes way too long to get done, however, I'll be omitting that aspect of the build. But.....  If this thing stops fighting me, I can justify the time it might take. The lounge is just so cool.... hell, that's what got me started on the Tristar to begin with.

Mad Max....   This looks really neat! I wish I could get one here in the U.S.

In 48th and 72nd....

An Airtruck, period, in kit form is pretty damn neat. I'm considering forming an alliance with someone in the EU to acquire one. (hint hint?)

Sharkit make an amazing variety of some very neat stuff, but it's quite expensive and they tend to be short run models too.

This is their catalogue page, and it'll keep you oohing an aaahing for ages.

Mr. Renaud used to post on here when he did something new, but it's been a while. Here's the thread :-

What are you thinking off about the Airtruck Brad?

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Well, once I get me some tires and do some repairs to my truck I will pay someone to buy it for me and send it over. Could very well be awhile though. I was thinking of blowing some of my christmas/birthday money on it but I better get tires.  ;D    BUT... indeed, it won't be long before I'm mowing again so I'd like to get one of these.

Plans for today? No plans... it's decent enough to get back outside and do home projects. That and I'm waiting around on my dog. He's at the vet. Poor lil baby has stuffed up anal glands I do believe then he had a damn BOT FLY create a sizeable wound on his tail that might be infected. I'm having trouble getting it cleaned up and healed so I'm calling in professional help.

That said...... I will take some time later to get a gloss coat on the Tristar and tomorrow transfers go on.

OK, I'd be happy to help out as I fancy a couple of Mr. Sharkit's kits as well.  ;D

Plus I have your address on file anyway,  ;)

I wanted one of Sharkit's Navaho missiles, but it was out of production. Next thing I knew he'd offered to mould me an extra one, with some parts that had been sent back by a previous customer for some reason.  :o

Naturally I haven't built it yet, it was only 4-5 yrs ago that I bought it  ;D but I now have the makings of a launch ramp for it, courtesy of a Belcher's Bits Bomarc launcher that I got at Telford, so it may get done this year.

In SAC markings of course.  ;)

Hell yeah, that's what I'm talking 'bout.  I'll get a Truck and you get your couple or whatever and save on shipping then forward mine to me and I save on shipping by not jumping through all the hoops. Or.... however the hell it goes.  ;D

I'm gonna be chuffed as hell presenting a built up Airtruk.    I'm like a Klingon thinking about it... "IMAGINE THE GLORY!"  ;D

It'll be February or so before I can come up with the almighty U.S. Dollar, though. BUT... hell.... that's just a matter of time.

Mad Max....   This looks really neat!

One of my all time favorite aircraft that is! Ever since seeing them at work as a youngster.

I'd kill for some main-stream-ish styrene ag-planes. I want all the cool sky-tractors and all the other crop-dusters and weird looking little planes.  <_<

There's a few I'm toying with the idea of converting, but that's about the only way to get most of them, currently.
Having said that, most of the ones I'm thinking about wouldn't be *that* difficult:

Harvard/Texan into a CAC Ceres
Boing P-12/F4B into Grumman Ag-Cat
Chipmunk into Cessna Agwagon

And again having said the above, there is an FU-24 Fletcher available as-is, ditto the Tiger Moth
The Lodestars NZ used for a while are readily available, ditto the DC-3s (depends how big you want to go!)
and transfers are available for some of them from OldModelsDecals

Quick stop-in because I HAVE to share this.

"U.S. Air Force Capt William Miller, the executive officer for the 25 Flying Training Squadron flies in the squadron's T-38 Talon heritage plane on Dec. 10, 2019. The plane was designed to honor past visionaries and link current training to the 25th FTS heritage.(U.S. Air Force photos by SrA Octavius Thompson)"

I'll do replies and updates later. Wasn't a good day today for me.

Did a fair amount of work on the Lysander today. Still hashing out the details but it's not stopping me from getting things done. Engine was painted, canopies cleaned up and dipped, wheels and spats glued together, and glued in the machine gun.

Finally glossed the Tristar. Tomorrow I plan to put the transfers on that go on the fuselage then get them cleared over so I can get on with painting the rest of it.

Sure looks better than that spackling mess I had before.
