Murder, mystery, intrigue!!  Meanwhile, we've all been about the large contraption whilst ignoring the little plane. Check it out.... seems to be having push-pull engines and almost looks like some French something or other. A Bloch something perhaps.

Update on the Tristar. This is as good as it gets. I'm not devoting any more time to the paint work. It's not the best... I mean... dropping it wet paint down on the carpet will do that, but I think I've recovered it well enough!  Truth of the matter is I got in over my head with this one so I'm lucky I even have anything to show for my work here so I'll take it!

See, it's good enough I guess but take a magnifying glass to some areas and it starts to look less appealing. I think as an entire package it'll be nice, though!  I still have to make the bulge that goes on the bottom. I finally found out what that was... it's simply there as a skid because of the galley. If gear don't work and this thing goes scraping across the ground grinding off the floor the people in the lounge won't have to peddle it like the Flintstones.   So anyway... I need to make that thing then get all the rest of the transfers done then it's just a matter of gluing on the gear and doors.

737 is also having work done. It got the last coat of clear just earlier and I'll let it dry up a day or two then I can mask it and finish painting.

Thanks, biggin'!  I'm so happy she's back on track. Lately things such as lack of progress or minimal progress haven't bothered me near as much as going backwards. Having to redo things has lately turned into some type of weird borderline OCD thing where I can't feel right unless I repair it. So....   ahhhhhh.....  relaxation.......   a breath of fresh air.

Speaking of fresh air.... I tried to use a jury-rigged bottle of glue today having forgotten about the jury rigging so the top flew off and it went all over the damn place.  ;D  It wasn't so bad.... it didn't get on any project and only caused slight damage to my cutting matte by erasing a couple lines but man I hot high as hell off the fumes. I had to get up and leave completely. It's freezing cold outside but I opened up some windows some and spent the next 30 minutes doing chores in a completely different area. Not good to be inhaling solvents but man I was RIPPED for awhile!  ;D ;D ;D

In other news..  I'm getting my paint together for the F-16XL. I even spent a good deal of time last night painting on the ordnance. Turns out laser bombs are sort of cobbled together. No uniform paint schemes aside from the fins for the most part. Also, I learned that the glorious B-61 bomb is not white, but rather, NMF! That's cool... all the variations and variety will add to the appeal.

Yeah, you don't want to be breathing that s-h-i-t but you can't not clean it up immediately - so, off with the pixies you go!

I'm just going to dump this in here and see what y'all say.

I found it with no credit or information. It's ridiculous and stupid as hell so I love it.

Why am I imagining that as the setting for an Agatha Christie Novel ? Probably Hercule Poirot, but possibly Miss Marple on a convalescent trip funded by a wealthy nephew or niece. How many of them she actually had I've no idea  ;D

Small one has an Italian look about it to me. A Caproni flying boat design perhaps, or one they didn't get around to anyway  ;D

Meanwhile that Tri-Star is looking amazing

Italian, good call! Perhaps a nice mid point between French and Italian. Blocky but stylistic at the same time. Too bad we can't see it better.

Thanks!! Tristar there was testing my patience but I'm quite pleased, now! Learned my lesson about proper tape and not throwing (I kid, I dropped it accidentally and it was traumatic) things on the floor.

Speaking of the Tristar!! I'll be putting more decals on it very soon! This one isn't long from being finished. Won't mention the lounge at this time.....    ;D  (sometimes I think, "Yeah, I'd like to do this!" then other times I think "Get this whole project offa my bench!  "   ;D)

Weather is nice so I'm outside working on the yard, truck, getting things ready for Spring, and... whatever.  Probably be at this for a few days then back to the builds when the cold comes back.

Sure enough.... got my first call today for cutting lawn.  Glad I got up of me arse a few days ago and got all my gear working (mower was busted and took 4 hours to fix!!!)  I wantneed that $$$$  ;D  All my "frontline" stuff is good to go. My backups are sketchy but I'm working on it....

Also, more good stuff.... I've done my due diligence with research and have honed in on what is wrong with my big yellow truck.  I've since bought the parts to fix it and installed half of them today. I was wanting to get professional help but I just can't afford it so I'm trying to do this stuff myself. I used to "mechanic the hell out of things" back in the day so hopefully it'll work out. If all goes as I THINK it will, Yellow will be running by mid to late week.

Bank denied me a loan so that I could get another used vehicle (as a backup; I was going to do this anyway) but someone in the family stepped up. Being winter, you'd think I could tolerate not working for a couple weeks but this porter service contract I have means I can't be absent for more than two days MAX. I'm now in big debt but I can continue to work every day while I or a mechanic(I, obviously, but initially the option existed for outside help) get the truck fixed.  Anyway... I'll be devoting all my free money to getting out of debt now. Being in debt is the WORST.  ;D

Anyway... It's been a rough couple of weeks but things are leveling off a bit and now that people are contacting me for lawn cuts has me feeling better.

You've obviously got a good reputation locally.  That's important.

I was thinking about you while mowing my own grass this morning.  It only takes me 20 minutes.  I was thinking how glad I was it doesn't take longer.

Good stuff, Bud. Like Fred said, it's obvious that people like you and your work and that's always important as it can attract more clients besides making the ones you've already worked for to ask for your services in the following year.
Now, speaking of the really important things in life, how's that XL coming along?  ;)
"Sticks and stones may break some bones but a 3.57's gonna blow your damn head off!!"

TheChronicOne

Thanks y'all!!     I keep forgetting to update the actual thread  for it but the XL is actually well on track. I solved all the pylon issues... I had the positioning figured out but then some of the damn things didn't work right for the HARM missiles that come with some sort of weird pylon attachment on them.....      Then I had a couple others that were wrong and I had to cut them up and reposition them. Can't remember what it was... conflict with control surfaces I think...    then I realized I forgot to make the damn things aerodynamic so I cut and shaped the angles on the leading edges so the things don't rip themselves from the wings. I've also been painting... I have the colors for the fuselage lined out and I've almost finished painting all the ordnance. Canopy is on and masked, plane is primed...  honestly, it's not far from being done. I just need the time!

Indeed it is. Hard to get one, easy to lose one, so you need to keep at it, which you obviously do

Thought about it (a black one, called Lucifer, natch).  But the problem with goats is that they eat everything.  It'd eat all the tasty shrubs and flowers and other stuff Mrs z wants to keep first and  would leave the grass until last.
