It's not the best and can even be yellow and brown at times so I don't use it for anything but bathing but more importantly I need water I can take with me as my tap is firmly attached to my house and I don't have eons to bottle my own every day after running it through a filter. I can't even keep up with work, chores, errands, and everything else so losing hours every week creating my own bottling plant is something I just can't do. Bottled water is cheaper and vast multitudes quicker and easier to deal with. I used to holler about it.... "why on earth would you buy bottled water when it's "free" (that's another thing, tap water is also bought water unless it's out of a well or something, we're on city water and they definitely charge for it) out of your own tap?!" Then I tried using it and realized what an idiot I was. It was like suddenly sitting down after having stood my entire life.  ;D ;D

Struck out again today... no model stuff. I gave in to exhaustion and took a nap for a couple hours then woke up and instantly started working again doing stupid house chores. Started gathering things up for the PPP loan, too. Tomorrow is another day, however. I have a tiny bit of mowing to do but I'm devoting time mainly to getting this loan junk taken care of so I can send it off. Tuesday is the deadline! BUT.....    I should have some energy back by then so evening time building is in the works I hope.

It's not just the cost to your pocket but also the cost to the environment.  All those plastic bottles...

However, it's easy for me to say that.  I'm not in your shoes.

Buying water?
Can't you drink what comes out of the tap?

That's my thoughts exactly, but having been lucky enough to travel the world I realise that those of us who can drink our water straight from the tap are in the lucky minority  What I really don't understand is people over here who buy copious amounts of bottled water when the tap water is as good, if not better in some cases  :-X Still perfect example of the power of advertising.

It's worth SO many more posing points as you're doing your daily jog around the park, isn't it? You can tell how vital it is by the way the bottle is always held with the label facing outwards so everyone else can read it...............

Yup, but how many of those bottles are simply refilled from the tap ? I can introduce you to at least 3 people who do that  ;)

Then there's the added time, if you use a 5 gallon Igloo, of filling it, cleaning it, etc.

City water in Trenton (NJ) sucks, since it comes out of the Delaware and there are state office buildings with signs that say *NOT* to drink out of the fountains.  I bought a Yeti last summer to bring water with me to work (because Cthulhu-forbid the Department of Children and Families provide water coolers that staff *doesn't* have to pay for.  But then, we're not the Comptroller's office).

Yeah... it was a time thing. I've tried every method under the sun and getting older and having my body starting to fall apart and being perpetually exhausted I just can't manage it. It got to the point where I'd skip it and wind up with not enough water and would get sick and stuff.... which would make it all worse. Then... there's the fact that I don't have any help with ANYTHING in my life. I don't have a wife or kids or friends or room mates... I never get say, "hey, I'm exhausted and need to get (x) done, could you handle the errands and cooking today? I need to spend an hour creating water, could you kindly take care of the vacuuming and updating the book keeping? I need to go work on all the broken down equipment, could you kindly do the banking for me this time? Hey, son, would you mow the yard because I'm too exhausted to do it and have 14 lawns for the business to do?"  I'm perpetually behind on EVERYTHING and dealing with theft, violence, equipment mishaps, surprise BS, etc.....   I barely feed and clothe myself at this point.  That's another thing.. keeping up with personal grooming and such.. I try to be presentable and professional but that's just another thing that takes time.  ;D

I have to prioritize things and let things go. The things I'm letting go right now are things like doing the brakes on my truck and taking it in for recall stuff.  Defrosting the fridge is another but hand has since been forced on that one...  I had it down the list below mowing my own lawn (which is now going to be overgrown by time I get to it and eat up two days) but it's almost where the door won't close so yesterday when I should have been filling out loan paper work I was preparing to defrost the little fridge which actually requires being taken outside because I have no better way to do it. I just stick it outside in the 100 degree heat and let it do it's thing but in order to do that I had to clear out a path and then make room for all the stuff inside inside another fridge which first had to be cleaned. Now here I am today, I found out I FORGOT about a lawn... or rather I forgot to check the message from the people asking for it so today instead of shopping and running errands I have to go mow lawn, trim bushes and cut branches down then I ahve to go over to another property and mow and weedeat the easement. By time I'm done with this I'll be hot and tired then have to come how take ANOTHER god damn shower then bacck to working on the stupid fridge and then try to find time to cook meals, prepare things for the next day, get my clothes ready and situated..... and then TRY to do that stupid paper work as the deadline for turning it in is TUESDAY.  Yes, I should have done it earlier but I was undecided until about 3 days ago whether or not I even wanted the loan.

And after all this.........   well.... infinite other things. There's days I don't even want to get of bed and just give up on everything but uhhh.... there's too much to be done to not do things.  :o ;D    Good thing is, I'm losing weight and getting pretty buff-ish.  ;D

Well!! It wasn't a bad day. I got a lot done, made some money, managed a trip to the store for water and got things for mama and ............... I got all that paper work filled out and submitted to the bank for the PPP loan! It was all done electronically and was a huge pain in me arse. Some things were wonky.. I had to download pictures and pages then use the mouse to sign things. It was weird but I did the best I could and uploaded all the completed forms to an email to the bank along with my 2019 tax return. That was another thing that delayed this process..... if not for submitting that i would have had to submit about 3 other things so I waited to do my taxes so I could just submit that.    I double checked everything but I'm sure I missed something so I'm going to visit the bank in person tomorrow and talk to Jamal who is my loan helpy friend person. Whatever. Something like that. Let's see if it works!  ;D

No work done on the models although I have looked at some on the Facebook which is pretty fun, too.  I hope it won't be long, though! I'm eager to get on with my F-86. Going to look into making a more proper intake arrangement with the diverter stuff and all and then see how much lead I can put in. I have some of them BB gun lead pellet things which should work.

I'm gradually beginning to realise just how spoiled we are over here in the U.K. when it comes to our tap water.

Thanks for the Yeti link Scoot. I had no idea what it was, saved me asking

It just occurred to me that making the diverter itself out of a bit of lead sheet might help too.

Hmmm... I wonder where I could procure some of that. There's a steel place close by... they make things out of metal and stuff... like... fuel tanks and stuff... maybe they have some?

Water.... yeah... our water system here in Lawton isn't half bad, really, but the infrastructure is old and I don't like to risk it especially after hearing of things like the situation in Flynt, Michigan with the.... lead (here's lead again!) piping and stuff. Of course... the solution is to filter it and we have one of them jug things that you fill up and has a spout. I use that for cooking, my coffee, etc but with the sheer amount of water I drink It would be a huge task keeping it cleaned and filled and then I need vessels to carry with me for when I leave the house. That would have to be plastic water bottles or maybe them alluminum ones and constant cleaning and such would be necessary.

Roofing suppliers would be worth trying in the UK, but I don't know if they use sheet lead for that in the US.

They used to.... not sure if it's been phased out or not but that's a lead!  A ... LEAD LEAD.  hahahah... yeah.

Just learned that all the hours I blew on the stupid load application crap was a waste of time. For some reason, my bank is not adhering to the national government DEADLINE OF JUNE 30. Looks like taking my time to make an informed decision instead of hastily jumping into a loan has cost me. I waited because I wanted to be sure it was something I actually wanted to do. I figured.... well, I have a couple days left and now I've made up my mind..... fill out all that crap and drag together credentials from all over the place to get a little two sentence reply.

"Unfortunately, we are no longer accepting PPP loan applications. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused."

Inconvenience!! Hell, I'll say.   ;D   Now I'm scrambling trying to find some other place to send all this crap to. I asked bank dude if there is a way to submit it directly to the gov't and he said I could do it through the SBA website but that's where I started and as far as I can tell all they do is allow you to search for a banking institution and NOT allow you to directly submit paper work to them.    Stupid stupid stupid... I shouldn't have waited so long to do this but I thought I was doing the right thing. Oh well.

That's so easy for them to say, and costs them absolutely nothing. It's totally meaningless. :(

They could have easily sent everyone that had opened up a line of communication via email that hadn't yet submitted the paperwork a notice ahead of time stating that they would not be adhering to the nat'l guidelines and would be ending their support for the loans ahead of schedule but nooooooooo......    Still, it's my fault for not getting it done in a more timely manner but a little courtesy would have went a long way. Now I have ONE day left to find a solution.  Not an impossible task, I hope, but woooo... this is cutting things close. Tomorrow is another day, however, and I don't have any paying customers lawns to mow (yet, I could get a call this evening or something) so I should have a little more time and energy to hit the bricks and visit a couple of the places listed on the website.

In other news, no word on the busted mower. Something must have been pretty screwed up because they've had the damn thing 10 days now. Happy to report, however, that the little mower I bought has worked out pretty well! I rather like the little feller.  ;D
