Next I'll get some of that BDSM fluid to keep me brushes clean.

Yup "cleanliness is next to Godliness" as my old Granny used to tell me.

Be a little careful with some of the "stronger" cleaning fluids. With the Brush Magic I've mentioned it can take the paint off the handle and thus make the ferule a little loose. Guess how I know that  ;D I now just ensure there's enough fluid in the cleaning jar to cover the brush and part of the ferule while I let them soak for a bit.

I clip a clothes peg around my brush handles when they're soaking in the cleaning stuff. That way you can adjust their height to exactly what you want.

Last time I tried brush restorer on some of my house painting brushes they ended up ruined - bristles splayed out like fans because the chemicals caused the old paint trapped between them at their base to swell.

Brush Magic hasn't done that to any of my brushes, but I must admit I keep a very close eye on them when they are in the pot and take them out quite frequently to remove that "gunk" with a damp tissue.

I'll have to be mindful when I try it out. On this note, has anyone ever done the ol' "sonic cleaner" thing with brushes?

Not much new to report... still up to my eyes with work and chores but I HAVE been working on builds again! The F-86 got some downright decent attention yesterday or the day before (whichever it was! ) and we're inching toward paint with that one. I still think I need a new, easy, swift build to help get the fires burning again. On THAT note I've done some other things... I've allowed myself to spend a wee bit of money on model stuff. I bought those brushes then went and found a Minicraft MD-80 in Hawaiin boxing for a $20. That's a good deal... snapped it up.

I've been wanting to get back to work on my 737-200ADV as well so I think I'll take a look at that stuff soon. I think it's time to mask to lower half. A few patches of anti-corrosion grey (might be that corogard stuff) and then some fine masking to get edges and curves then it's on with NMF paint. This paint work is really all that's stopping me. I have to make the vortex dissipators but that will be very simple and likely the very last thing I do but other than the paint... and maybe a few decals... it's all but finished.

Yup keep an eye on the brushes initially, but after a while you get to know what you can and can't do. As for the sonic cleaner ? I've never even thought about it to be honest.

Painted the gear struts for the F-86 yesterday. That's about it. Getting closer though... I got a fair amount done on it a few days ago.

Ordered a plane model and it showed up about a week ago. I haven't even opened it yet. I left feedback, though, so let's hope it's not a box full of newspaper or something.

Busier than ever and the weather is so garbage. 90s and 100s with all the humidity.  Got a couple days behind about three weeks ago dealing with human problems yet again and never got caught up and then got behind another day from having to cancel lawns one day to get out of the heat. I normally get caught up within a few days or a week but instead I've been behind on various things between 2 or 3 days to a week or more. Longer hours than usual, less sleep, more problems...   people complaining about things... had to stop and put suspension parts on my truck... behind and some trash built up out at the shopping center and the people mowing complained so I had to deal with that crap til like 9 at night then the next day go out two times to take care of that crap in the middle of mowing yards in the 100 degree weather. Other things... too much to list. At some point things like pills and caffeine and all that stopped working and I was straight up exhausted all day yesterday and still feel "off" today.

I need a day off but I don't see how! As of today it's been 4 months straight, 7 days a week without one single day off. 6-7-8-9 hour days. Chores behind, my lawn hasn't been mowed in a month. No hlep with ANYTHING. Sometimes it feels like I'm working longer and harder and accomplishing less and less. Every time I think the lawns might slow down it raing juuuuuust enough to make them go into a growth spurt and also make things ultra humid. It's just one losing battle after another. There's going to be some easier days coming soon but getting there is rough. I'm thinking things will settle down about the third week of September and I might start gaining ground at about that time. Of course, we'll be heading into the second rainy season but the HEAT starts to go away so not having that killing me all the time will give me some energy back and I'll be able to get more done. Here lately I've had to stagger my lawns a bit... instead of mowing every single day, I'll skip a day here or there but this means I'm always behind but I can't be out in this heat every day like that.... but even on the days I don't mow I'm faced with hours and hours and hours of trash contract and all these backed up chores and projects at the house. It's a nightmare right now. I wish I could hire some help but the people around here are TRASH and WORTHLESS.

Something like that.

I wish I had an answer for that. There was a time I'd give myself a break but HUMAN problems always happen. Every time I let on that I was partaking in free time family would treat me as if I were lazy and always tending my business for me and telling how I need to do this and need to do that. It's gotten to the point where it has ruined free time. Even when I have legit free time... I'm miserable because I'm worried that that bullshit will come at me (and it usually does) so I force myself to WORK on something. I could put the stuff off for another day and likely be fine but I've been conditioned to feel that if I'm not working 24 hours a day then I'm worthless so even when I TRY to have fun... it's just... not fun any more. So, I work myself to death to please others. Health be damned. I've tried to explain this to the person(s) that do this to me... about how miserable it makes me but it does no good.

I need a re-set. I need about a week where I do close to no work... go pick up trash and basic house upkeep and otherwise just relax and work on models, play video games, go for a ride, whatever. I think I could get myself back into the proper mindframe if I can manage to do that an no one comes at me with the bullshit.

This problem.... I tell you.... I'm out in all this heat now killing myself because of THIS PROBLEM. I used to get up early in the morning and work when it was cooler but I'd be home and through with work around noon or 1 oclock... sometimes even earlier and people would treat me like I was a lazy piece of poo-poo because I wasn't still working all afternoon and evening. Didn't make any difference if I just got done working 9-10 hours and woke up at 2:30 am. The fact that I was resting by early afternoon meant I was lazy. I got tired of the mental abuse over it so I decided this year I'd work right in the middle of the day in the god damn heat and kill myself to placate these people that treat me this way. So the problem compounds and since I work in this heat all the time now I'm ALWAYS worn out and on the verge of heat sickness. But oh well!

Mowing my yard today and tomorrow but I hope to get some work done on the F-86 in the evening. I tried yesterday but the nose split apart when I put a rod inside it so I could paint. Repaired that and will sand it then try to paint again. I'd like to at least get some paint on the plane so it can sit and dry and maybe finish painting the missiles. I just need to do the detail on them... the yello w and brown rings and the seeker on the nose, etc.

Don't know what to suggest to that Brad C.  But we are here to listen if it helps you to vent some fury.

Thought occurred to me that the ones who criticize you the most should impart their wisdom to you by working alongside you for a couple of days. When you invite them make sure it's the hottest days possible. Of course if you did actually ask for their help they would refuse but it might shut them up a little.

Thank you! I appreciate it... this is one place I feel comfortable enough to do it. I'm well aware that the whole place is public viewing and all but I feel safe whining here.

I think things will be much better soon. Once I get past this blasted heat I'll physically be feeling better and the mental part will follow and I'll be better equipped to deal with any following dilemmas. Also... if my luck holds and it doesn't rain within the next couple of weeks I'm going to catch a bit of a break with mowing. Then, I can get some of the more problematic lingering projects knocked out and that will help. In the long term... I'm going to think seriously about ways to make next year go much smoother. Not sure what that will entail but it'll be good to sit down and plan things. Looking forward to that, actually! I have a few ideas....

On a much more pleasurable note.... I'm getting (back) into PC gaming and having a glorious gaming tower built. Oh man... all the flight sims and stuff...   And.... all them paint brushes I order from Merry ol' England arrived so I'm going to open them up. I even opened up my model that showed up a week ago. Lastly... while it's still really HOT here right now, the humidity has gone down so that helps. Accentuate the positive....
