Thanks!!  Hell yeah, it's like... work drama.  ;D    Even though I haven't worked with other employees for years now and do everything solo, it's ironic that this type of drama finds me still.  :o ;D     There's really no escaping it I guess. Damned ol' soap opera.

One great thing about this place is that it IS a good place to vent and we're a community rather than just a stage people slap pictures of their finished work on. Of course, we're focused on building and the stuff associated it but we're a community and it's nice that we don't pretend not to be. People here are comfortable discussing their lives, even though it's a publicly viewable forum, because everyone else is receptive. It's one thing to know a persons works, it's another to know that person.

That's why i call this place my modelling home and you guys are the family. I've met nothing but good people on this forum and i've always felt welcome here.  :drink:

Exactly.  There are a bunch of great people on here.

I'll have to share some work shenanigans.  Those happen all the time.  Sadly, haven't picked up a brush in awhile so no model progress.  Maybe when school starts in the fall...

Yesterday a coworker was zipping down a line of circuit breakers turning off all the lights, and also shut off the one marked "NO" in bright marker.  Apparently if you do turn that one off, you can't turn anything back on.  Now we know...

TheChronicOne

SNAFU!!

Hell, that reminds me of a situation recently.... back a few months ago I was vacuuming out stores and I got to one that.......  No matter what I did with the panel and switches I could NOT get the damned electricity back on!  Maybe some similar switch was hit and explains why. I was so baffled.  ;D

A lot of good work stories come from drunks. DFZ and me self were discussing these antics recently over at "his house." I have another...... this dude would show up to work out at the golf course absolutely SHITFACED. I was off that day, but he showed up one time and was damn near incoherent to the point of medical emergency and he got fired that day. DUDE, he would hop his drunk azz up on the big tractor with a mowing deck arracy of 8 mowing decks and be slamming into all kinds of things and tearing stuff up. I hated it because I was the mechanic and had to fix it. BUT... it's like......       so many of these stories I have about drunks involves them running highly dangers large equipment. It's amazing what people are allowed to get away with.

Still no luck on transfers for the F-16. I'll start work on painting the strip myself but not until after I get some work done on the Klingon ship. I wound up not doing anything yesterday on any builds so I've lost yet another day and the deadline draws closer.

I used to work with a drunk.  I remember him standing on the top of a roof (two story building) demolishing the chimney with a sledge hammer after a particularly liquid lunch.  He was swaying alarmingly but didn't fall off.
He fell asleep at the wheel driving home one night and the truck drifted to the left until the wheels hooked into the gutter at which point it continued along the road until there was a crossover at which point it crossed the pavement and crashed in to the gates of Shoreham power station.
He lost his job then.  But only because he lost his licence and so wasn't insured to drive the truck anymore.  The boss (who was a real piece of work) had been overlooking the drinking because it hadn't;t affected his work up until that point.  He also encouraged us to steal materials from the builders merchant but that's another story.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Yikes!

We had a guy call in drunk once.  That didn't work out as well as calling in sick.

TheChronicOne

lmao....  I woulda gave this person a commendation for honesty.  ;D    BUT then again........  the hell? If you know you have to work the next day....    I guess accidents happen but it's not very responsible. I've done it myself, though... that is... show up to work with one hell of a hangover but I put and end to that crap many moons ago. Called in a few times, though, too, but I always lied and simply said I was sick or whatever.  ;D

Fred, dude.... that's it, you nailed it! So often nothing is done about this type of thing until after a mishap. I could understand if it weren't known that the individual were a drunk but in the cases where EVERYONE knows it's a different story.

FINALLY gaining ground on the Klingon BoP. Painting these little panels is a pain in me arse but turns out decreasing my caffeine intake has helped. This morning I made my pot with one scoop of regular and one scoop of decaf and it was perfectly acceptable but easier on my stomache and I'm not wired for sound and dealing with late-day withdrawals. It just doesn't do to have a surplus of energy and no decent way to expend it. Calories and caffeine both....   I'm digressing. I'm almost done with the panels on top of the wings and then I'll do the ones on the bottom which will all be red (two different shades, though! They might look the same in pictures but... there should be enough tonal difference to create some depth) with markers. At that point I'll start painting all the little bumps and ridges and stuff... not sure how I'm going to go about it yet; I'll just wing it. (heh)

Later if I am up to it I'm going to mask for and paint the yellow strip on my NASA plane. For the sake of comparison, I'm going to take a picture of the decal I did manage to apply for comparison to my custom job.

In other news, I think I'll throw in with the GB and make a lil flying police car:

I have another sheet of decals with possibly useful markings, as well, that I'll dig out later to see if I can use any of it. But... even if I just have these markings here, I can use them combined with paint and a few letters transfers to make an abbreviated name for the agency flying the thing. Should be fun! I'll make some overheads lights to go on it, as well, and maybe put some antennas on it and possibly a tear-drop post-mounted spotlight.

That NASA flash looks VERY smart indeed.

Does indeed

Only went to work once whilst drunk and that was the day after Crystal Palace beat Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-final the year they thrashed us 9-0 at Anfield (they only managed 7 this year, so we are getting better ). Went into my office, shut the door and went to sleep in my chair. The girls fully understood, left me to it and brought me a mug of coffee around mid-day. I latter found out they'd turned at least 3 people away from entering my office that morning  ;D I had a good team

Mind you back in the 60's/70's most of us returned to the office Friday afternoon after a liquid lunch, slightly worse for wear, but times change.

I've never been drunk, ever.  ;D

My asthma kicks in long before that stage and it was off to A&E for me in the old days. Nowadays I just don't drink, it's a lot easier.

Yeah, it's a shame I have to rip it off of there!  :o ;D   On that note... I ran head first into more problems when I went to get the letters ready for the replacement.......  I didn't have enough "A" on my sheet of letters and numbers!  :banghead:    So I dove back into the decalstash again and about the first sheet I saw was this one:

Yeah, you see it!    Just what I need; Two "N", two "S", and four "A".   1, 2, 3, 4, WE LOVE, MARINE CORP!  ;D

I also fetched the other sheet of Law Enforcement (or 'LORE ENFORCEMENT' for me Bri'ish mates  ;) ) transfers.

It opens up more possibilities for my Cessna but I really just want a typical white and blue police cruiser. But.... man...... Customs... FBI, Park Rangers, all sorts of neat stuff in here. I initially bought it for the USPS markings but the rest were a nice bonus to boot.

Last night's activities were on the Klingon ship. I have like... 3 days or some crap to get it done so my focus is largely going to be on this until I get it knocked out. Good thing is, once the painting is done, it'll take about 2 minutes to assemble then it's just a matter of clearing it and getting transfers on. Probably won't be using hardly any of those, in fact, because there's simply no place to fit them.....    probably some striping and a couple Starfleet deltas but that's about it.

So anyway... here I go.... mask for the new yellow stripe (strip) on the Valon and while it dries I'll start painting again on the BoP.

Got a fair amount done on two projects today. Wrapped up the panel painting on the Klingon BoP. I need to go back in and clean up some things but I've already started painting on other area so I'm hoping now that things speed up and I'll be able to finish it over the weekend.

Next up... I masked the plane then painted the yellow strip on. I also got the transfers in order. I put decal film on everything and trimmed 90% of out down to the edges so they're ready to roll, now. In fact, that's the next step. The dark stripes on the yellow strip will be done with transfers so I won't have to paint that so.... after bried re-entry to the paint phase I'm not back to decals.

That Law Enforcement/US Mail sheet is interesting

Some years back I worked in a petrol station. If you turned the canopy lights off you had to wait 15 minutes before even thinking of turning them back on again.  :banghead:

A similar thing happened in an old nuclear bunker that I help look after. Somebody went down there last summer and as they left they hit ALL the switches. That included the sump pump which has to be on all the time. One of our FB group did a maintenance check in December after a few weeks of rain and found the lowest level flooded ankle deep.
We then secured that pump switch with a padlock.

TheChronicOne

That brings up an interesting memory. I swear I read about one time where divers would dive flooded nuke silos seeing as how they could be, once flooded, hundreds of feet deep.
