Tribeau Sketch by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr

Briefly known as the Beaumaris until representatives of messers Sue, Grabbit & Run (commissioners for oaths, wills executed, debts collected, ask about our no pain no fee specials) darkened my doorstep waving writs bearing Kitbasher's name, the Bristol Blairgowrie will have been a trimotored airliner from the immediate pre-war era.  I have yet to make up research who used them but I suspect zenrat industries will be involved somewhere.

A photograph of an unbuilt Airfix old mould Bristol Beaufighter TFX (moulds dating from 1958) will be along shortly.

Looking forward to this, sounds like fun!
Unless my math education is failing me you will need more than the Beaufighter kit. What else is on the chopping block?

Zenrat Industries' products are always interesting and, ahem...unexpected.
Looking forward to see what you'll be concocting.  ;D
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Aha!  I have an engine left over from when I built a Merlin Beau using another example of this kit.

Just 2 sleeps to go and I can start sanding off rivets...

As a former Nullabor Pirate, I must say "Aren't they always?" :-\

If memory serves (I last built an Airfix Beau when I was about 16) shouldn't that be "... grinding off rivets..."?

zi has fingers, thumbs and toes in many pies, pasties and sausage rolls.

The Beaus I have are moulded from a fairly soft pale blue plastic so the grinder isn't necessary for this build (but its on standby for some of my 70's Hasegawa kits).

Yertiz.  2008 issue of the old mould Airfix Beau - at which point it was 50 years old.  Last issue before the new mould was made.
Eagle eyed viewers will spot there are 3 of the highly detailed engines and props in the box.

Some progress.

Duh-duh-Daaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr!

This is the cockpit plus i've drilled some passenger windows and scribed some doors.  I've also glued the (warped) wings together.

Not consciously.  When I was building the first civilian Beau I thought what if the pilot sat at the back here.
It could also work on a military Beau with the pilot at the back and a gunner in a turret at the front.
It's purely done for aesthetic reasons - i've always liked the look of planes with rear set cockpits.
Hence this.

The Blairgowrie will have had passenger seating in front of the pilot and cargo stowage behind.  Passenger door on the port side and cargo door on the right.
