EDIT:  I just remembered that it didn't come with the little windscreen clear parts in the bag and yes, the original bag was sealed and had no holes in it. That might help narrow it down.

A place to get help identifying a mystery kit.

I need help. You can look on Scalemates, if you wish. I tried but didn't come up with anything. That doesn't mean it's not there, just that *I* couldn't find it.

It's a 1:72 Yak UT-2

It came to me as a bagged kit. All I've done is remove everything from the janky old half opaque flimsy bag and re-package it all into a new zip bag.

All I can say it's that from the sprues is NOT the Amodel or the AGA one. Sorry.
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

No worries, bud! I myself had thought about the Amodel as both it and this have "3"s for markings.

This reminds me of kits sold in 'behind the Iron Curtain' truck/car stops etc, very much like the dodgy kits that used to be sold in Little Chefs in the '70s. Haven't seen them in years.

Almost like Pegasus product ;D.

Now that really IS a nice kit.  One of Pegasus' best.

Most Pegasus stuff post 1988 was pretty decent.  The kits around the early to mid 1990s were the best he did.  The prop in the Spitfire F22 was the best 5 blade Griffon prop released in 72nd until a few years back.

That Russian kit, ont the other hand....  Isn't it something that the Romans left behind?

From the look of the instructions and decals you get the option of two different paint and marking schemes. Not bad.

Yeah! I'm probably going to actually start building it!  I'll be done with my  Yak 7 tonight or tomorrow... (polish, decals, polish, then glue on gear and propeller) so I'll have one day before the group build begins to have something to do in the meantime.

Second entry in the "identify this kit" thread is this oddball I picked up recently.  Me-163s 1/72 resin w/ vacuformed canopies.  Came with no paperwork of any kind. What is pictured is what I rec'd. No decals or containers or anything.

I'd love to know more about it. The plane itself looks quite nice. A mix of raised and engraved detail.

The vacuformed canopies, however, *seem* grossly malformed and way too big. Maybe I'm not getting the bigger picture, though....    The resin itself is a sort of transparent-ish green color.

(Bonus: theres my truck partially in the background that was struck by lightning... lol    :banghead:  )

No information was given other than "unknown" and that it was a 163s made of resin with vac canopies.

Anyone know anything at all about this?

Thanks,
Brad

That looks reminiscent of the early Czechmaster resins.

I have a McD XP67 from them, also moulded in one piece and in that same greenish semi-see-through resin. The canopies on mine are OK though.

I know the canopy set-up on the 163s is sort of odd but this stuff looks just plain out of whack. I can't help but think that's how I wound up with it; whoever had it last was more confused than a cow on astro turf, as I am, and threw in the towel.

I think when/if I tackle this, I'll trim up from the bottom tiny bits at a time and dry fit the canopies as I go to see if there is a "sweet spot." Sort of difficult to do that with them in this state. Hopefully after trimming the stuff will line up... who knows.

Thanks for the for the information, Kit.. I'll have a round of googling for Czechmaster and see what I can dig up, if anything.  <_<

Definitely CMK.  I have one somewhere in the loft at me Mam's.  I think...
