Build in progress. It is a relief building something that doesn't need to be 100% historically accurate, nor extra-carefully constructed.  ;D
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Almost done, still some painting and assembling and deciding on the details of the markings.

Time for another, perhaps - anyone know how old the mould is for the Airfix 1.72 DUKW?

I have no idea, but in such cases I just check Scalemates and it says 1966:

I'm trying to figure out how to whif it. It will serve in the Naval Air Corps of one of the Patchwork World Dutch city-states.

Always fancied these as a flying wing ... you know, chop off the tail booms, add vertical surfaces to the wingtips instead of tip tanks, and there you go.

Wouldn't get at all twisted if someone did this before I could  ;D
Going to be finished in 2021 BEFORE I start any da*!#d new ones - CF-IDS Wolverine; Douglas Mawson; Bubba Wants a Fishin' Rig; NA F-100

Against the Wall - Maton Dreadnought; Fender Telecaster; Epiphone Les Paul Studio

Sorry, only just seen this.  :banghead:

The idea I had for a Patchwork World Sea Venom was to take the radar off and fit a radial engine (the one from a Zero is a good fit) to make a long-endurance mixed-power fighter. Whether to keep the two-seater cockpit or plate it over and fit a single one to be determined.

Well you could start off with a DH Swallow, be much easier  -----  (for those who don't know, a Swallow looks like an Me 163, only jet powered)
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Mm-hmm. Yup. I don't have any spare radial engines; however...

It is staying a two-seater, though not tandem. We need to keep the crewman.

Yes, I know I've missed the deadline. I'm still going to finish the projects, if I ever have a few free minutes to myself.

Ohhhhhhhhhh!

My DUWK alternate is done, so I'll post that as I have a few spare minutes.

The Sea Venom is almost done, but I'm not quite certain how to finish it off. I do like the radial idea, but I don't have any spare radials that I can find, and I had a different idea, also involving a prop of a sort. Now that I have time, I shall ponder.  ;D

Sorry, gang, the prop idea just didn't work. Maybe someday I'll replace the dome with a radial. For now here is the result. Looking back through older posts I found we actually had this idea back in 2009.
It is a twin-seater fighter-bomber sea patrol craft for the Patchwork World Dutch city-state of Cape Town. There is a pilot and a co-pilot/navigator/gunner; the co-pilot can swivel forward to aft to direct the aft-firing turret gun for rear defense. In the present configuration the aircraft carries armor-piercing rockets, plus two 25mm machine cannon.
