The FV521AS Warrior 90mm Recce/Fire Support Vehicle is an Australian development of the British FV500 Warrior MICV family of vehicles utilising the 90mm Cockerill-gunned Cadillac-Gage turret of the LAV-150 series of vehicles.

Photo's would have been forthcoming tonight but, for some inexplicable reason, my camera battery was dead when I went to take the pic's.

Maybe, if I get time between "Honey-do's" & work, tomorrow.

the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

Once again my armour ignorance means I know not what is whiffy about this.
Looks good though.

Is it me (or the beer) or does the turret look like an elephants head?

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Zen,    its several things,  our esteemed Aussie colleagues don't use warrior, and the turret's been seriously upgraded, normally its a 30mm AC in a much smaller one.  But its also a cunning play on the fact that they've done similar things by adding turrets to M113 apcs in the past to give fire support vehicles.   ( and that's just what I can spot, there may be, other things as well.)

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

What's that spiral thingie at the breech end of the main gun please?

It looks as if someone has given the muzzle brake a BIG twist!  ;D

It's a sleeve to keep dust & dirt out of the recoil damping mechanism of the gun. It'll look like canvas when it's painted.

Actually the turret is narrower than the standard Warrior turret (although the turret ring is slightly larger) but a bit longer with the bustle. Otherwise on the money.

That's probably because of the honking-great gun on the front of it. ;)
