In Aeroplane Vol.4 n°8 (August 1976) was an article about this (poorly known out of Canada) Ptrodactyl VIII designed by Prof. Hill at Canada's National Research Council. It was a YELLOW tailless glider - not twin-boom but twin cockpits 6-feet apart...
Who will scatch-build this marvel? More beautiful than all the famous Horten/Northrop, according to me... :wub:

Probably our Canadian friends are currently sleeping, on their side of the planet. Well, I have found this bird on the Net too, mainly at:

The Short Bros design reminds me of some of the huge Junkers 1930's airliner designs shown in the Putnams book. One 1930's project had 10 engines and the other (J1000) tail first design, with all the passengers in the wing

You forgot the MAIN feature: the J.1000 would have been a twin-boomer :wub: . I have the Unicraft kit :wub: , and I plan to build it in 2005 or 2006 ;) ...

That J.1000 looks about as practical as the 'backwards Lightning' from the other thread. What's the point of having windows in the cockpit if all the crew sees is that great big tailplane?

Ahhh yes..the National Research Council Flying Wing...a beautiful aircraft...apparently flew like a dream...was cut up once the program was completed too...typical.... :(

Maybe Canada was part of UK in 1946, you know better than me. Somehow a cousin of the great TSR2? :(

yet another interesting Canadian prototype...if anyone can find a drawing of it, id happily give it a go as it would make for a nice model...might even be worthwhile doing as a resin too! (the Aeroplane Monthly article has piccies but no drawing...aw!)

If memory serves me, the Dynavert is the CL-84.  I suspect a lot of folk would love the three-view of a studied attack/assault derivative that's published in the latest issue of APR.
