From the puppy pad underneath I would name that jeep "Puddles".
What knucklehead painted the jeep outside yellow?

Perhaps they have to paint the stuff outside yellow so they can find the store when they turn up each morning? It looks like it snows like CRAZY there!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

A little closer to home but I thought I'd put it here. A new display down at our local Cenotaph. Guess I should get a few pics of the Sherman at the legion and the Cougar at the armoury as well !

Interesting looking vehicle and one I'm not familiar with, apologies for that, but modern armour is not my "thing".

It's got an awful lot of little "lumps and bumps"

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Captain Canada

I think it's a LAVIII. All of the little spots are for the bolt on armour.

Cheers Capt

My brain has a problem with bolt on armour. It just "sees" an inherent weakness in the bolts. Probably just my brain and the out dated metallurgical data it holds  :banghead:.

I usually hunt planes, not armor and cannons, but I will keep my eyes peeled on my travels.  I passed a light artillery piece in Worthington, Ohio, and went back a week or so later.  Ended up with pix of three that day, 2 at that location; all three are the same thing, a 3-inch WW2 antitank gun.

First one, in front of Sharon Memorial Hall in Worthington.  Seems to be a township office building.

Behind that building is American Legion post #239, with another of the same gun.

Down the road about 30 miles is Legion Park in Marysville, OH, with another American Legion post, #79, and another 3-inch gun.  This one's data plate was the best preserved and shows it was made in 1944; the others were 1942, but the plates were very blurry.

Interesting piece. Looks almost Soviet to me, especially with that shield ?

I know very little about artillery.  Maybe they got a lot of them through Lend-Lease?

Nick

Interesting old guns. Turns out that 10 of these are still in use today for Presidential Salutes. They started out as towed 3-inch anti-tank guns but were too heavy and exposed to be very successful.

Cool stuff and thanks for the link ! I was close to going to Illinois yesterday. We also have some crews working in Kansas I'm hoping to get there as well.
