Great photo's Capt

I'm fascinated by the number of artillery pieces lying around in the US. Love the big German WWI piece, now just need to get my "big book of guns" out and see if I've identified it correctly  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

And the two smaller, green pieces, were Japanese I believe.

They look it, but I need to check. The French had some similar looking pieces as well, mainly mountain and pack gun types.

When I was wee lad, when I would gather up all my airplanes and tanks and stuff to play with 'em, often times one of my scenarios would be that after Nuclear War we'd have to dig up relics and museum pieces to build a new military.

Great shots!  Looks like a fun trip (outside of work...)  You found a few helos I don't have on the map.  Where are the A-7, buzz bomb, and Honest John/Huey displays?

Captain Canada

Thanks guys. These were the markings on the breach of that cannon.

Work's not work when you like it lol. Sometimes anyway

The A-7 is at the Victory Monument in Danville, at the corner of S. Logan and W. Main St.

The Buzz Bomb is in Milford. Some good stories behind it !

The Huey and Honest John are at American Legion Post 1019, Aroma Park/ Kankakee.

THE McDonnell 119/220.
Oh, and some garish Grumman blob.  ;)

(Taken with a crap phone camera...going back soon with a proper tele.)

And a BIG expanse of polished shiny.....

It's actually snowing in this image.

And the very next day, basking in the sun.

Aha, I have the Huey and the A-7.  Added the JB-2.

I think I have all the A-7s listed; the A-7 Association has a great map.  I hope to see the one in Alliance, OH next weekend.

A-7 at Alliance High School, Alliance, Ohio, 12/16/17.  Not sure why they are the Aviators- Akron is nearby, and the Alliance Argo was built there in the '20s, but there may be even more history to it.

Wikipedia says it's because of all the aircraft factories in the area back in the 1920s when the school opened. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alliance_High_School_(Alliance,_Ohio)
