As an old chap who is staying young building models and playing wargames with grandsons I have a stash of scores of old kits.  Unfortunately, they are in boxes piled into the back of the junk spare bedroom behind our long moved out children's skis, snowboards, boxes of vital stuff that has not been seen or used in years.

So yesterday I had a look at some of the bits boxes.  There are wheels, tracks, tank bits, armoured car bits, truck bits even some aeroplane and bits.  So it looks like I have enough bits to make an entry.  But ... I do not have a complete kit of anything for sure because the parts are all mixed together.  The closest I have come from the tank box 2 almost complete Airfix Panther hulls (missing some bits of the suspension torsion bars), huls and bits of some (3?) Airfix 8-wheel armoured cars but only 13 wheels, some gun turrets from the Matchbox Puma, 2 Airfix Panzer IV turrets and another lot of Panther bits (Matchbox?).  Then there are Matchbox Firefly Hulls, Airfix RAF truck set bits and bobs and more.  There some broken bits of various vehicles for cannibalisation too.  Even three one piece resin AMX-13 turrets with guns - no idea how old they are (can I use these?)

This afternoon SWMBO is out so I'll see what is available for some "secret" vehicles of the WW2 period.  Maybe some "Paper Panzers", a Home Guard armoured vehicle ... who knows?

So I'm in!

I don't see why not. If the main body f the kit is an oldie, you should be able to accessorize it. Kinda like the cougar's going for a night on the town  ;D

I like the idea of vehicles cobbled together by the Home Guard  in Lower Wittering-under-Tumphill , or even by the Volksturm in Kliener Aschiemer am Zee.

These are NOT scrap  boxes, they are containers full of opportunities for a Whiffmeister!!

If you could get the people on this forum together and brought those boxes of treasure out we would be pawing through them for hours. Someone would make something cool out of it all.
I bet a bunch of those parts are old as the hills so I don't see any problem.

Nice find!

Random thought: Syria used Panzer IVs as late as the 1967 Six Day War, where they saw combat. Some of those were refurbished in France before delivery while others came from Spain. Now it's also the case that Egypt used Shermans with AMX-13 turrets supplied by France and the AMX-13 turret has been fitted to a bewildering variety of other hulls too. Given that, it would be a very plausible whiff to put one of the resin AMX-13 turrets on a Panzer IV chassis and claim it as part of a third batch supplied to Syria.

Possibly, if I can find an Airfix PzIV hull in the stash.  Can certainly fit one onto one of the Panthers I have but that is really reducing the tank's gun power but then it does have modern ammo available.   The French had Panthers after WW2 so it is plausible.  I've seen the Egyptian Sherman/FL-10 turret combination but it is real life. There were AMX 13s with M24 Chaffee turrets and FL-10 turrets on M-24s.

Still thinking and sorting through boxes.

I have a very vague memory of having seen a photo of a Buffalo with (probably) a 6 pdr at gun carried a Portee

The book on the 79th Armoured Div - "The Funnies" there is a picture of a Buffalo with a 17pdr up top.  I think that may be the one you are thinking of.
