There's a real De Havilland Canada Beaver displayed in the Spaceport inside the terminal of Calgary International. I'll try to find more about it.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Captain Canada

I never ended up doing my tour...disappointed. The game schedule could have allowed it but it would have been close so I aborted the mission. Next time !

Bummer, Captain Canada.  I had hoped to go to the USAF Museum in a couple of weeks, but looks like that isn't happening.

I added the T-33 and Beaver, thanks!

Captain Canada: just came across the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park.  Ships and planes, presumably tanks too.  Off Marine Drive near the river.  42.87741, -78.87961

We now have more than 2000 aviation sites on the map.  1335 museums, which feels like almost all of them; new finds are few and far between.  596 gate guards and air parks, which are sure to take off, so to speak- there have to be thousands of them out there.  70 other sites including tours and memorials.

Fantastic work on this. The most complete listing that I've ever seen.  Sometime this year I plan to go on a little road trip to see some of this stuff.

Thank you.  Tell me where you're going and I'll try to look for stuff in the area!

So far this has been about six months of work (when the baby is napping.)  Not counting years of collecting data here and there... I needed it for my trip planning too, and am using it for that right now.  I think it has pretty much all of the museums.  Lately I've been mainly adding gate guards, and that is slower and will keep me busy for years.

No real plans yet as I will make the trip revolve around where this stuff is located. Most likely I'll definitely head south to Wichita Falls TX to look at Shepard AFB. If anything is reasonably close to that area... then the more the merrier.

The ships and planes in Buffalo were going to be one of my stops !

Let me know when you are going and I will try to focus on that area.  Right now we are thinking about going to Florida, so I need to fill in that part of the map...

Captain Canada, I just added a bunch of gate guards in New York.  Tonawanda, East Aurora, and Hamburg are very close to Buffalo; Shortsville and Hinsdale aren't much farther afield.

Happy to help out with New Zealand!

Warbirds & Wheels at Wanaka has Aermacchi MB.339CB NZ6468 as gate guard.

Also! RNZAF Base Ohakea has a DH Vampire FB.5 on gate guard duty. I'm there for the Air Tattoo next weekend so will try to get a photo (I have one somewhere).
