identical to the Laura Ashley shade "Dusty Rose Pink" so there's a colour match for modellers.

So who got there first ? The Boy's from Hereford or Ms Ashley ? And if the latter the mind boggles  ;)

Boggle on!!  My source of data reckons Ms Ashley got there first!

Yes it does look like an angular Lynx. When I first saw it I thought, "why give it a different name ?"

To confuse their Admiralships into thinking they were getting a brand new aircraft instead of an update of the world's fastest helicopter?  ;) ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

There's a desert pink** Landrover inside the security barrier at the SAS lines at Credenhill (Hereford).  You can just see it as you drive past, but any sort of photography is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.

**SAS Landrover pink colour is (according to one of my acquaintances who is stationed at Credenhill) identical to the Laura Ashley shade "Dusty Rose Pink" so there's a colour match for modellers.

The National Army Museum have a "Pink" Landrover in storage at their Stevenage Depot

It was actually so that "Their Warships" the Lords of Admiralty could sneak a much more capable helicopter past the Treasury by calling it a very similar name to its predecessor.

Have we  yet recorded the pieces of   sculpture just outside Andover airfield (as was)?

An article with pix:-

A303 / A342 junction.  I think that the aircraft portrayed are an Andover (of course),a Westland Pterodactyl, a Harrier, a Lightning---Lockheed P38, not the English  Electric one---and something single engined that I can't identify. Perhaps you can!

The helicopter's a Sikorsky R-4 Hoverfly, and there seems to be two different single engine bi-planes on the left side of the plaque, but bi-planes aren't my strong point.

There are now more than 5000 sites on the map!  1546 museums, 3149 gate guards and air parks, and 305 miscellaneous (memorials, planes used as restaurants, etc.) The museums are still trickling in. Thanks for your contributions and comments. We aim to record all aviation museums and preserved aircraft, for trip planning and just for fun.  I never thought I'd find that many museums.  As I add gate guards and other displayed planes, I stumble on a few more museums.

A little further data re: the Madley item above.  I met a bloke at the Hereford cathedral service today who'd been at the unveiling. He says the aircraft sculpture is a Dominie biplane. Rheged minor also reports a memorial plaque to the Glider pilot regiment at Shobdon Airfield 52°14′30″N 002°52′52″W He says he might be able to post pix of it later.

Link to pic of Madley sculpture added later

Pic of Shobdon memorial added later, and a site worth looking at

1943, RAF No. 1 Glider Training School moved from RAF Thame to Shobdon, enabling an increase in training of glider pilots in preparation for Normandy and Arnhem landings.(Wikiquote!)

One missing from Utah.

The E. J. Garn Aviation Complex is the Utah Army National Guard Helicopter location.  They have two gate guards.  A UH-1C Huey Gunship and an OH-6 Cayuse.

The Guard base flies Apaches, Blackhawks and a couple of Lakotas.  Every now and then a Chinook or two will fly into the base.
