On my recent 4000km road trip I made notes when we passed things of interest to this thread.
Of course most of them are already listed but it's the thought that counts.

Not on the map is a Leopard tank at the memorial park in Jerildarie in NSW on the Newell Highway.  I didn't get a photo.
The DC3/C47 at West Wyalong is listed as is the Vampire at Forbes.  Both also on the Newell Highway in NSW.
In Griffith town centre in NSW is this Firefly which is already listed but I managed to get photos.  It has a motorised prop which is a nice touch.

And finally the Lake Boga Flying Boat Museum...

...which has a Catalina...

...and lots of interesting things including instructions on how to attach the beaching gear...

...and the Rex Booker Collection of 1/48 aircraft.  I couldn't spot any whiffs but they were well built and it was nice to see someone's passion for the hobby live on.  Wish I could have got better photos.  They are displayed in glass cases which can be viewed from both the museum shop and the (very good) cafe.  Easy to examine but hard to photograph.

Not an aircraft you see on a pole very often, if at all. It looks great up there and the motorised prop is magic.

While almost up to your neck in water too!  :o

The pilot needed to be VERY accurate in mooring the aircraft in shallow enough water to allow the 'ground' ('sea'?) crew to actually do that without drowning!

Splendid job he did there. A friend of mine is doing the 'All the Spitfires' model collection thing, and in 1/48 too, and it's a MASSIVE job! Well done Mr. Booker.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

It looks good coming at you over the trees like that.
Odd to see a Naval aircraft in Griffith which is a long way from the sea.  But then there are precedents - there is a Submarine at Holbrook on the Hume Highway which is at least 75 miles inland.

The shop in the museum was sadly lacking in models for sale apart from a number of the Academy 1/72 Black Cat PBY-5A.  I've built one of these and the undercarriage is very weak and they were IMO overpriced at $60 each.  They also did not have the additional RAAF transfers which the Australian distributers put in the boxes.
however, kudos on them for at least having one relevant model for sale.

Cheers for the pics mate, I do like that Firefly on a pole

Great shots, Zenrat!  Looks like a very interesting museum.  I guess I'm a bit of a nerd, because I like the model displays almost as much as the full-size planes.  The USAF museum in Dayton, and the Musee de L'Air, have pretty good collections of models.

Don't worry about liking models, I do the same. You should see the model display at The Museum of Flight in Seattle, I think I spent more time looking at them than the actual aircraft (and I spent a lot of time looking at those too). The Palm Springs Aerospace Museum also has a fantastic display of models.

Me as well

The Imperial War Museum in Lambeth used to have a huge collection of model aircraft, ships, aircraft and artillery along with dioramas of WWi and WWII battles. That was many, many years ago however and they have long since been removed along with the massive cabinets of WWI/II weapons. Apparently today's youngsters don't like "old fashioned museums". I've often wondered if anyone actually asked them and if it's just not a case of the curating staff wanting to be seen to be "progressive and modern" ?

Back in the day I'd go to the museum and spend the day there and go back the following day. Last time I took my great nephew he was done in an hour. He enjoyed it, but we had seen it in an hour  :-\

A shame, honestly.  Back in 05, I took my 2 week leave in London, and spent pretty much a day in every museum I could.  Along with wandering aimlessly about the city.

A lot of museums you can still do that in Scoot and you certainly can in the City. I think it particularly affects the Imperial War Museum, mainly because "Times they have a changed" to paraphrase Bob Dylan  :-\

The museum that has gone the other way so to speak is the Museum of London. Once upon a time it was an hour at most, now it's a fantastic visit for all ages

Kitnut617, I've been to the MOF, jeez, 20 years ago?  Don't remember the model displays, but I'm sure they're cool.

Captain Canada, I think I have Ohio covered pretty well, but let me know if you need any info.  I'm in Columbus.

My trip was only 7 years ago, might be things have change a bit there now. The biggest collection there was all built by one guy IIRC, hundreds of them too.
