Just saw this, Rheged- I will definitely check them out in the morning.

Also, another update: finally got all the "lost" sites restored.  End of January instead of end of December, but I'll take it.  Up to 1833 museums now, quite a gain lately.  Roughly 10000 sites total; I'll have a better number when I finish touring Russia by Google Earth.

Nice.... gaining ground once again. Helps with the enthusiasm!

Thanks!  Yep, that was a big hurdle.  Now touring through Russia, which will take another few months... Lots of interesting stuff there.

My middle brother, a keen mountain and rock climber, has been up Ben Aighe a few times, and once Dad had told him about that Lanc crash, he climbed the gully to the crash site on his next trip to the area. He says there's a surprising amount of the aircraft still there.

Added to the miscellaneous section, with memorials etc., thanks!

I've noticed they've almost finished installing a new gate guard at RAAF Edinburgh, a P-3C(?), to the right of the entrance (there's a Leopard 1AS to the left).

Note: These are early emplacement photo's, she was looking a lot more finished when I drove past last week (work driving).

That's one heck of a large gateguard!  :o

But it looks great.

I have a P-3 and F-111 listed as at RAAF Edinburgh, exact location unknown, with a pin at what I think is the main entrance: -34.71646, 138.64491

Google Earth photo is from 2018, so can't tell if that's the spot.

Jumping the gun slightly, but here's notification of a memorial due in September

I've saved the link, thanks.  Hopefully we'll see some more info in the fall.

Update: 1856 museums, 785 misc (memorials, etc.,) 7699 gate guards etc., for a total of 10340.  Just imported a friend's list of Norfolk sites, so that will add a few hundred more, mostly memorials.
