What's with that 'Half a Herk' then?  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Sorry I totally forgot to add the text ! It's located at the Evansville Regional Airport, in Evansville, Indiana. It's beside the fire hall, so I'm assuming it's a training aid.

Kitbasher: We already have those on the map.  Let me know if you still can't see them.  Maybe Google is being weird.  I hope everyone can see all the sites.   I do have a different website for the BOB bunker at RAF Uxbridge / Hillingdon: http://friendsof11group.co.uk/

I logged out and searched the map for the de Havilland museum, etc., and they showed up.  Still might be an issue of me seeing things that others don't, since I am the administrator.  Folks, please poke around the map and see if your favorites are there.  We'll never have them all, but I am confident we have all of the major ones, and 95% of the aviation museums in total.  A few more come in every month during my searches for gate guards, generally in out of the way places.

For reference, right now we have 1552 museums, 3232 gate guards/air parks (in two separate map layers,) and 314 miscellaneous (memorials, factory tours, planes built into restaurants, etc.)  If you see different numbers, or don't see a museum you know of, please let me know.  I want this to be as complete, and useful, as possible.

Hi reddfoxx, delved into the map and had a rummage round but didn't see any of the sites I highlighted (hence the suggestions).  So is it possible some locations don't show according to the user's location (unlikely I guess), or is it possible I somehow checked an old copy?  A mystery  :o

Argh, I'm not sure what is happening.  I doubt the viewer's location matters, and I assume the map link stays the same.  Just in case, here is the current link:

Might it make a difference whether you view it on a phone or a computer?  And you're all welcome to join my Facebook group, The International Aviation Museum Guide.  The map is pinned to the top.  Maybe accessing it that way makes a difference?

Wow.  Added, thanks!  The Jetstar and others appear to be permanent displays.  And that graveyard is huge!

Rheged

Another one for the list. So new it's not erected yet!

Added, thanks!  We already have a couple of sculptures listed there.

Good time for an update:  more than 5700 locations on the map.  374 misc. (memorials, factory tours, planes used as restaurants, etc.)  3785 gate guards/air parks, etc.  And 1,585 museums, far more than I thought existed.  The museums are trickling in very slowly nowadays, so I think we have almost all of them.  But then, I said that as we approached 1500.

Aircraft Park in Kauhava, Finland:

The Finnish Air Force Training Air Wing was located in Kauhava from 1937 to 2014.

A park in the town currently has two display cabinets with trainer aircraft (Saab 91D Safir, Focke-Wulf Fw 44J Stieglitz, VL Pyry - and a Valmet Vinka coming when they are decommissioned) and a BA Hawk on a pole. The plan is to also move two Fouga Magisters, mounted on poles, from the former Air Force site to the park - and there is an option for a third display cabinet.

Google's images are not up to date.
The Fougas are still at the former Air Force site, near the airport:

edit:
Finnish Aviation Museum Society page that seems updated on what is there:

A Fouga Magister was recently mounted on a pedestal in the "Aircraft Park" at Kauhava, Finland.

Perttime and upnorth, thanks!  Both museums were on the map, but I modified the listings with your updates.  That Finnish one is unusual, with the "display cabinets" for some planes.

reddfoxx

There are now more than 6000 listings on the map!  1600 museums, the rest gate guards, memorials, etc.  Never thought we'd have that many museums, but I find a few more every month.  Thanks for all the info and suggestions!
