The Avro Canada CF-105 Arrow.................. 

Actually the Avro Arrow was an excellent interceptor design, in the following ways

• Twin-Man Crew: Reduces workload, though the design was intended to use automation to compute intercept-vectors, it probably wasn't needed as the automation did what the GIB did
  
• Performance: It almost certainly had a remarkable rate of climb with the PS-13's on full burner; it accelerate to and maintain supersonic speed without use of afterburners (similar to the English Electric Lighting); it appeared to have good maneuverability subsonic/supersonic
  
• Modular weapons-pack: Allows quick armament/re-armament and allows new armament schemes to be added later on without as much fuss
  

The only things I don't really like about the aircraft are the excessive empty weight

I'm curious as to what advantage it had over the following designs

• Convair F-106
  
• Avro Canada CF-105 Arrow
  
• North American F-108 Rapier
  

In terms of performance, avionics, weapons, serviceability (it seemed to have some modular components, the radar if I read correctly).

Exactly my point.

Only the pig headedness of the then Canadian Government and the machinations of the US aviation industry and DoD prevented the Arrow becoming a milestone in aviation history.
