Absolutely beautiful, shame that there are no camo'd Raptors IRL

Much though I detest the shape of the F-22, that looks REALLY good Brad.

So much better than that all over grey scheme, and it hides the ugly fin shape better. Well done indeed.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I was doubtful about the green splotches but I was wrong, they work well.
Good job Brad C.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Not something you see everyday!
Whatever.

Thanks everyone!!!

I admit, and didn't say anything at the time, but I was on the fence about them green splotches myself. Not that they don't work originally or don't "go" with the rest, but the way I put them on. I painted all those in about 15 minutes, very quickly, and very sloppily.  For some reason I became really lazy at that specific part of the build but over time as I did other things they wound up being just fine. The work after that including bits of touch up helped to subdue where I was too heavy handed on some of the peripheral areas and all the transfers helped. I may be imagining it but even the clear coats seemed to help a little.  ;D

Camo on Raptors....  I agree. The Grey on grey camo that the real ones have happens to be one of my favorite GREY schemes. Some are just downright boring like an all grey F-15 that appears all the same shade, but the grey schemes on these are cool looking;  the un painted grey bits add yet another shade that makes it even better.

All that said, I like colors any day of the week and have seen some examples of colorful camo Raptors before and they look really good. Color definitely helps this plane look better and I fully admit that it can be beastly at certain angles so it needs all the help it can get.  ;D ;D ;D

Look, I found one strikingly similar to mine, a skin for a game, but still in USAF stuff:

I always liked this one which has greens with greys:

Also from a video game.

I found some more but not too sure it would be safe to use the pictures here.

Now, perhaps time to try a T-50.

I've been meaning to update this thing for WEEKS now. I just keep forgetting or blowing it off.

What if the A-4 Skyhawk never existed and Norhtrop filled the gap with an F-5 derivative?    "A-4 Liberty, U.S.S. Kittyhawk, CAG bird."

Nice and sunny out, but that means I could just barely see the screen!  Not bad pics, though. I even brought out the big F-15N to put aside it since they're both Navy and look similar with the paint and all:

Build here. It was spread out over many pages: http://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php/topic,42778.1935.html

What if WWII hadn't wrapped up in 1945? What if Northrop sent a flying wing type contraption to the RAE for trials?

1/72 RS Models XP-79B acyrlics with hairy stick. OOB with no mods other than slight deviation from painting instructions (which are fiction anyway . .. . )

Thanks y'all!!!!

I have to agree, I think I'm digging the Sea Eagle the most right now of all my finished stuff sitting around.... It may well be the best one I've done. I'm so pleased with how it came out, I hope it doesn't sound all self serving and stuff.

But, hell, we build for ourselves first and foremost, right? I always said when someone asks Metallica who their favorite band is, should the answer not be "Metallica?"   ;D ;D

Now,... that said,  I have some turds here and there as well so it goes both way!!!   ;D :o :o :o ;D ;D

Absolutely! If you like it that's what matters, if others like it that's a bonus, if they don't ... Meh! Who cares?

Totally agree, sometimes it's the process which is as important as the finished article, whereas at other times you can really, really struggle but for some strange reason you end up liking the finished product ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hasegawa Spitfire Mk. I 1/72 acrylics w/ hairy stick (real world):

No mods other than to replace the mast that I lost and I had to mask for and hand paint the black lines on the wings. You'd think that even on an old kit they would have transfers for those! Nope, not in this one!   ;D
