Snowtrooper

Looks very Crimson Skies-y to me - I like it!

TheChronicOne

Hey, yeah, it does, doesn't it!   ;D ;D

Got this done and the pictures actually turned out really well in my opinion!

Q'pla!

Build pages here, pages 21-25. I just realized I never took any in progress shots of this one?! Oh well, I did talk about it at least:  http://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php/topic,42778.330.html

"1987 boxing of the Revell 1/72 scale F-4B Phantom done up as a Soviet Russian lend-lease plane. Nato reporting name "Farscape," it was re-christened 'Md-4' for the Soviets."

Jolly good Brad.

It's just struck me, wouldn't the NATO name for the Phantom be Fantom?

Fred

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

"Mind that bus." "What bus?" *SPLAT!*

Looks good after that wash. ;)

Hell yeah, that was a good bit of advice, thanks! The other was just too "bright" and "clean." I like this much better.  I'm getting better at weathering, too... which is nice. Practice is good any time I can get it.  :D

TEST BED is back. Not a new plane but definitely a new scheme and colors.

Anyway, the plane with the new attire, we'll start with a "before" of how I had it painted last time:

This test was to settle on the proper colors to use on a Tu-4 Bull bomber for the Soviet GB.

I'm a full HALF A YEAR delinquent in updating this thread.  :o ;D

I keep meaning to do it... I keep saying I'm going to do it.. then I get lazy and put it off or forget outright....BUT... I remembered this time!  ;D ;D

Right... first up is my Shorts Tucano in 1/72. All hairy stick and acrylics. I did this as part of the 1st annual Rod Buchannan memorial group build on the Facebook Scale Modelers page.

This thing whooped my butt up and down the block. I made repeated mistakes and did many processes over and over again. I stuck with it, however, and this has wound up being one of my favorite lil planes!

More soon...

Build for this one is here, pages 16, 17, 36, 37, 44, 45, 51, and probably a couple others (shelf of doom, I stopped working on it for months..): http://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php/topic,42778.0.html

An F-84G in service to the Republic of Molossia.

Combo of spray paint and acyrlics brushed on. 1/72 scale, of course. It's the old Heller kit. Quite a nice kit!

Next up, a 1/72 B-29 by Airfix done up as a Sovite Tu-4 Bull in Cuban service. A gift from Kruschev to Castro. I call it "Castro-Force One."

All hairy stick and acrylics. All hand painted aside from the roundels.

This one was a lot of fun. A lot of work, too, though.  :o
