PSR is done! Yeah!
I found a blinking LED unit from a Christmas decoration. Comes with its own adapter.

I'll place it in the bottom "drive" unit.

That's looking smooooooth.

Fred

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Yay!!! Plates once again.   ;D

Lights are installed in the "drive unit".

PSR is finished! Yea!!!! I applied some primer to find any defects.

Now to let it dry for a couple of days and sand off a couple of spots. Then the silver and a few black decals for visual interest.

Oh, and a base.

Did you see the base in FSM one time that someone had made for his WotW Martian Flying Machine?

Complete with torched pickup and the driver who 'made an ash of himself'... nicely done, and maybe a possible source of inspiration?

FWIW

TheChronicOne

Or having it tractor beaming up some cows. The support structure could be (partially) hidden amongst the "beams."

Looking good there!

'Fraid not. Sounds good, maybe I can look it up

I'm thinking of Astronauts on an alien planet look. I have some fun bits and pieces for that.

Looks good to me!

If your'e doing a second one, here's another idea for the flashy lights.  My kids got some gel rings at a disco that had a funky pulsating light, you squashed them to turn them on and off.  You could easily cut the gel to get at the electronic gubbins and the switch.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

kerick

I'll be on the look out for those. I bet little kids love those.
All kinds of useful stuff in the party isle.

Yea Ha!! I painted something and it came out right the first time!!!

Krylon really came through on this one. I think the silver says 50's space ship just right.
I wet sanded with 400 grit paper that had been used already so it came out really smooth. I painted as soon as it was dry so it wouldn't get dust on it.

Plus I found some tiny figures in the drawer of doom. N gauge railroad guys but with a little paint they should look like astronuts.

Me too! I have a round oak disk that will make a nice base.

Yeah that does fit the bill of a 50's saucer.  Great idea with the little dudes!

I can hear the twangy music already!      "Destroy all humans!"
