A;ways a pleasure to watch a master at work, Kit.

Just get the impression that my brother (a 7 year indentured shipwright) might have some experience with that method Kit. Be very interesting to see how the P.S.R. goes.

Watching with interest
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I got the idea from doing double-diagonal planking on my model boats Chris, and adapted it onto a circular shape as well as I could, so your brother certainly would know about it.  ;D

Reminds me of when I was doing the rear fuselage of my Atlantic

It might help if you did this with the strips first Kit, hold the strip firmly on the bench top, then as you pull it towards you, drag it down over the edge. It will give the strip a bit of a pre-form

If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

PR19_Kit

Yes, I did that Robert, works quite well too. But the spacers tended to sharpen up the strips when I pulled them tight in turn.  :banghead:

Nothing that a ton or two of filler and 4-5 acres of wet and dry can't put right eventually.  ;D

As much as I relish seeing this come together I completely understand the need for a break. Take it easy and my best wishes are being sent your way :)

That's why ye cut the ribs at a bevel, and add in as many additional removable moulds as needed,
when ye build a real boat.  ;)

Looks like it's gettin' the job done though.

I should have rounded off the edges of my spacers had I thought of it in time, but such is life.

I've got two layers of the strips on now and it's not looking too bad, it'll still need a LOT of PSR though.

So, what is the progress on this build, Kit?   I do hope this is just a temporary, holidays induced hiatus?

PR19_Kit

No, it's a wife's recovery induced hiatus.  ;D

With luck I'll be able to get back on it tomorrow or Friday.

Nor can I Cap'n.  ;D

Too many family responsibilities just now. I did some work on the wings the other evening, but that's pretty boring as it's standard Victor at this stage of the build.

Those M'box Victor wings take loads of work to start to look decent.  :banghead:

As it's all raised panel lines the whole lot need to be sanded off and then re-scribed at some time, but I'm hours away from doing that yet. I'm currently just starting on sanding the lower port wing after getting through two sanding blocks doing the starboard wing! I've already done this for an OOB Victor B2 that I haven't finished as yet, and there's a lot of extra strapping and small panels that need to be added as well.

Naturally the wings need to be lengthened a bit  ;D as the M'box wings are for the K2 tankers which were shorter than the bombers. As the Vindicator used a pretty much standard Victor K2 wing design  ;) these ones need to be lengthened too, something I think I'm reasonably well qualified for.........
