Mossie, where did you find the dimensions of the BiCH-28? Couldn't find it...

I was thinking it's techical and periode comrade of the MiG-15. That's a small aircraft aswell. I think i'll give it a try in balsa and get parts from a MiG-15. Therefore I need more info on the dimensions etc etc. Where do I find that information?

David

They appear on the plans that RAAF-35 posted above in mm.  These are qouted in Soviet Secret Projects: Fighters Sonce 1946.  Other books and web sources qoute 9.0m long by 7.0m span, although Soviet X-Planes mentions those dimensions are a guesstimate.

I think you're right in comparing it to the Mig-15 tech-wise.  Aerodynamically, it was a generation ahead.  Other tech data,  4.0 m between the edges of the inner wing panels.  Powered by 1x Mikulin AM-5 (same engine as the two powering the mach 1.2 MiG-19) at 4909lb thrust. Max speed mach 1.7 at 7000m/23,000ft.  I've never been able to find any details about armament or any positions on plans
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Thanks Mossie,

Somehow I missed the drawing and the dimensions. As I come to think off it, it's technically more comparable with the later versions off the MiG-17.
After a rummage on the internet I found two additional pictures off the BiCh-26 and it shows armament, although i couldn't find any info on type and caliber.

Think I'll proceed with sanding the balsa..

Ive never seen armament marked on any plans although first one looks contemporary so might be a reasonable indication.  I've thought before that the inlet scoops look borrowed from a MiG-19.  The second one is from the cover of Secret Projects: Flying Wings and is quite recent.

The piece in Soviet Secret Projects since 1945 - Fighters about this design doesn't mention anything about armament as the project never got that far, although most of the calculations and wind tunnel testing were completed. Calls it a very advanced and outstanding project.

RAFF-35

I don't know if anyone else has considered it, but how about a TSR-2ski? I won't be doing it as I don't have enough room for another TSR-2  ;D
Don't let ageing get you down, it's too hard to get back up

zenrat

Already on it.

GBs been going two days now.  Has Dizz finished his first build yet?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

zenrat industries:  We're everywhere...for your convenience..

RAFF-35

Ah. Great minds think alike  look forward to seeing the complete build

He's probably on his third one by now, and every one better quality than mine ...........and I build more slowly than continental drift.

Not Dizzy! Me.

True, 2 of my builds are of Hobby Boss kits, so not much work and pretty much out of the box.  Also I've been on holiday at home the last fortnight, so l have gone berserk modeling while I can.

Anyhow, back to work tomorrow, so the pace will slacken off.

I've got an Sturmovich, a pretend Su-2, and an Airfix Blenheim (Bolingbrook) in the stash that could end up being part of this build if I find the time.

By the way, all the kit bashing here is extraordinary!
Whatever.

Do not be scared, gentlemen. The Korsarski is done, in "standard time", but the current Fastback is (much) more complex, and I take my time - even though there are many potential further ideas, including a piston engine post WWII fighter, a T-34 version, even an airliner for Aeroflot's domestic service... And then there's that guy that always wants to lend the TARDIS, for a TV production he says...

Thorvic

Managed to track down and get a copy of this last week :-

Its a Russian book called Alternative that covers Russian Warship projects since the Dreadnaught age, lots of inspiration but trying to track the matching test and data to the drawings is a little tricky to say the least.

A Russian Light carrier 60/70s period with what appears to be Soviet Tracker/Tracer clones and a hefty Missile battery
Project Cancelled SIG Secretary, specialising in post war British RN warships, RN and RAF aircraft projects. Also USN and Russian warships

Time for Dizzy to build at least six more entries........  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
