Inevitably, doing some sanding, I broke something else off, but as always, there's glue. So no biggie. Also not so big is the LRMTS fairing (Ferrari this time, remember?) under the nose, but nevertheless, I'm rather pleased with it. As I am with the general filling of excessive location holes and misalignment gaps.
As the Hasegawa Hun isn't provided with the outer wing pylons, making and attaching those are probable next step but in the meantime, it's actually a bit interesting to see how much difference those wing tip ECM pods make to the general appearance of the aircraft in comparison to her French and German sisters. Unexpected.

Still cold and snowy, and there's a risk for a few more inches on Monday. I hope not, though. And I probably should do some work on one of the Defenders before that, but again.. cold..

Ah, well. Today was a resting day. Maybe I'll be more geared up for doing things tomorrow.

To quote an elderly Hebridean acquaintance  of mine  "When the good Lord made time, He made several bucketsful to spare"   There is ALWAYS tomorrow,  resting is essential.        Now if you will excuse me, there's some procrastinating I need to get round to doing..........

Hehehehe I LOVE that!

I may adopt it as my family motto.   ;D

Well, it seems someone had to do something, so..

Today, I pulled myself together enough to actually get out and under the short Defender, replacing the offending drive shaft. Not a big job, really, but as you have to lift one wheel to be able to spin the shaft in order to withdraw all bolts, it takes at least half an hour, of which maybe only ten minutes is actual work on the drive shaft. The rest of it is dragging tools, lifting and lowering. Tedious.
Anyway - less vibrations afterwards, so happy chappy.

While geared up, I got around to make those pylons, and in addition to that, glue on all the other remaining pieces as well. Basically, this mean that the Hun is ready for painting. That's progress!

Slush. Most of my world seems to consist of it right now, and not only my world. All the other poor souls living out here in the sticks having to drive into town also are hit by it. And a not insignificant number of them are slushed off the road by it too. The ditches are more or less full, and the Defender is earning its keep by the hour. And I get damp feet and cold hands. This is indeed an awful time of the year.

The Hasegawa Hun that was cast in dark green styrene is now somewhat more RDAF green. It'll need a second coat (a first in some spots - annoying!) but after that, a proper varnish coating can follow and then decals.

I wonder when I'll be dry enough to do those decals..  :-\

Exactly.  And yet people look askance at me when I tell them I hate snow.  This is exactly why I choose to live here where the nasty white stuff stays up in the "mountains" where it belongs.  It never falls this close to sea level.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Given the way our climate seems to be behaving, I hope you were touching wood as you typed that ?  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

We've only ever had standing snow the once in Wellington, and a good few years ago now.
The city almost shut down... getting up and down all the lumpy bits was interesting, too...
An experience I'm not anxious to repeat - though the cat's reaction was amusing...

Rain I am fine with - even the sideways variety - but that's cos we're used to it.

Somewhat low on energy for the last few days, but yesterday, I pulled myself together and whipped out a few possibly Danish builds (while at it) and started to paint some minor components on the sprues. That effort continued today, but there's still more to do. Mainly due to the F-84G Thunderjet I had is a Tamiya one. The amount of cockpit detail, not to mention number of fiddly parts is quite impressive. And somewhat tedious to deal with if you just want to slap something together. Ah, well - it'll surely look nice once built. But it have to admit that I kind of long for the old Heller issue I've built earlier which wasn't that bad despite having less than half the part count.

The Hun is being patched/detailed in between the other painting. It's shaping up nicely, methinks.

The weather forecast for the weekend is looking disastrous, so I might actually get some desk time in, if I'm lucky.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

Pellson

Well, that didn't turn out as expected. Then again, when does it ever..

For different reasons, my body hasn't cooperated as I hoped it would last Friday, so the weekend has been mostly rest. The little energy I've been able to muster has gone into the contracting of the upcoming bathroom renovation, and God knows that's not very enjoyable.

Modelling wise, I've become a bit bogged down in that Tamiya F-84 cockpit. So many parts! I'm sure it'll be nice once completed, but right now, I'm not quite that amused. Stupid, really, as I probably should appreciate the extra effort the kit company has put in, but with these current energy levels, I would have preferred some progress.
Yes, I'm whining..

The upcoming week is a bit busy, so I'm not expecting much in the way of progress, but you never know. Sometimes, you just surprise yourself, don't you?

Yup... and I prefer the term 'critiquing'...  ;D
