It's Christmas every day around here, because I can see the "Nakatomi" building from "Die Hard" from my street (or roof).

Christmas holidays, finally, now swiftly going towards New Years. Time does go faster these days, doesn't it? It just seems like yesterday I brought in that tree..

While I actually have managed to read a book or two, I haven't even as much as looked at a model since I last came home from work.  Everything has its time, I suppose, but I still can't help but find is just a tad annoying that this is the case. And January looks to be a rather packed month as well.

What I have done, however, is bought an(other) old Monogram F-105D, in my humble view the best Thud kit out there in Gods own scale. Yes, I find it better than the current Trumpeter offering too, even if that's not bad. Anyway - having gotten the kit delivered (and properly stowed away in the StashTM), I've run the odd search on the webz for inspiration, now leading to a somewhat more acute lust for building a Thud or two, than completing anything else. Like the early Lightning or Draken. Also, clearing up a bit in anticipation for Christmas, I found the three Greeks I built during the summer holidays, neither of them painted. Hmm.... I'm not sure another build is what I really should start as we speak, so I might try to sit this sudden burst of mojo out..
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

Basically writing just to let you know I'm not dead, and I hope you all may forgive me for that. ;)

Anyway - it's been a massively busy month, and I've spent more working hours travelling than at my desk. A week in northern Spain, and lo and behold - the one day I had unplanned turned out to feature 20C and a beach walk! Not bad for a Scandinavian in January!
After that, a week in Stockholm, and while working with nice people - I am not, and will never be, a Stockholmer. That city has a strangely cold and desperate air I'll never fully learn to deal with.
And finally another week in Northern Sweden, where average temperatures stayed well below -10C but people generally are warm and welcoming as if to compensate the climate.

Spain as per a couple of weeks ago

However, today I'm finally reinstated behind my own, inherited desk (my great grandfather, who was in the RSw Army in the late 1800's and early 1900's commissioned its construction in the regiment carpentry). It's a bright day, if not really warm, and despite my workload not by far permitting any real modelling at this time, it's quite nice to be able to at least perform some aerodynamic studies and at least dream a little about completing something.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

Spain looks like a lovely place. Although I'd hate to be the surveyor there laying out the property lines among those hills! Glad you're back.
