Not much modelling done today. I blame the weather that was so nice, so I took the family in the Defender, windows down, and cruised into town in the warm winds, just to have an ice cream and watch people. Best day in a long time, actually, doing something together all family, and everyone loves riding the old mudbus when you can let in the scents and warm air from the outside.
Actually, we took a second ride later in the evening, when our girls went to their violin class. They play for just over 40 minutes, in town, so we drove them, and then the wife and I walked the dog for the duration. Still lovely warm.

But while helping (or rather morally supporting) first the 8 yo and the then the 14 yo with maths, I took the opportunity to complete an old hitherto under armed Phantom with some Sidewinders and also paint the Valiants canopy black (to make the inside dark) in preparation for the hemp overcoat. So I'm still doing something. Still keeping the mojo alive.

Actually, you know, writing these more or less daily posts here also serve that mojo-supporting purpose. It spurs me to have achieved something during the day, even if just a smallish thing, I've found.

You could go even further with the Defender and take the doors right off!  ;D

Or would that be illegal over there? I quite often see a guy who lives up in The Forest driving his old Series II around like that.

You're right about posting things on here keeping the mojo up to speed, it's the Whiffer's connection with OUR Real World.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Surely with a little work Kit you can the doors off any car...

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Well yes, but Landies are designed like that in the first place.  ;D

Well - it's nice to be able to wind up the windows every now and then, so I think the doors will stay. And in all honesty, the windows are pretty big and go rather low anyway. It's not anywhere near the tank sight blocks of modern cars.

Absolutely no modelling whatsoever done today. Instead I took my 14 yo daughter to drive gocarts. Jolly good fun! Her first time and she really dared to push it. I'm proud as ever!

Re models, I brought a few models to the cottage but I'm slowly realising I should have brought painting gear as well. Which I didn't. While bringing kits I believed I had prepared properly, I keep finding components should have painted that I haven't. My own fault, and it's unbelievably sloppy, but worst of all is that I can't build! To quote a British TV personality: Permission to say "Cock!"
I think I still can do some stuff with the big wing canbird, though. We'll see as tomorrow promises some rain. And rain is modelling time, isn't it?

I'm getting quite a few tips on my RAAF Victor idea. That is outright awesome! I'm learning loads, and that project can become great! Keep up the good work!

Ah go-karts, great fun and the fact you are so close to the ground increases the perception of the speed you are traveling at.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

OK - having stared down the kits I brought for an hour and a half - and lost - I really need to get home to my tools and paints again..  :o

Last time I go-karted (four hour endurance race) I got black flagged after I discovered that I could keep my foot firmly planted on the throttle all the round the circuit and just drag the brakes on the way into corners to bring the speed down.

We still won.

Love it, the 'Racer's Edge'.

Well at home and happily sifting through my projects shelf, I came to realise that I have quite a few models just waiting for loadout. And that said loadout more often than not is existing within my scope of supplies, but also painfully uncoloured.
Generally, it seems God has decided that I'm to paint rather than glue for a while..

If you need weapons or such just ask people. We are a helpfull bunch and usually just ask in payment that you simply return the favour for someone else.

Thanks, Alastair.
I am aware but feel it would be acting a bit too spoilt to ask for prepainted stuff when I have plenty on frames, don't you think?  ;)

I would like to believe that I try to help others as well when I have the opportunity. Those who know, know.

Sorry I missread that. Thought you were saying that you didn't have the weapons  :banghead:

Easy mistake, and one that resulted in a very friendly pointer. No harm done.  ;)
