Quote from: Pellson on August 02, 2023, 05:21:45 AMHaving given another blood sample (welcome to the world of cancer patients  :-\ ), me and the much prettier half of the family decided on having a brew rather than stressing on with the doors to that shed. That gave me the opportunity to surf a bit on this and that, and mainly on modelling. I am feeling a slight tickling in the mojo nerve again, so if I now just can kill that shed off...

Hope the blood test results are all fine and dandy.

As for killing off the shed....petrol is recommended.

Surely in this Carbon Neutral World it should be an axe ?

I'm certain Mr Pellson would consider some form of carbon offset before torching the shed 😉

I'm sure Pellson would come up with a much more environmentally friendly approach; like drilling a few holes & sealing some woodworm eggs in them with a mix of pine resin & sawdust. ;D

In Australia we use termites, it doesn't take long for them to reduce a solid structure to one which collapses in a puff of dust at the first strong breeze.

You mean there ISN'T some obscure, Australia only, critter that's entire life is aligned to finding and destroying sheds anywhere and everywhere, along with the occupants as well?

Oh, there is, they're termites!  :banghead:

Well, duh!

How else is one meant to dispose of the evidence ... bodies ... camp waste?! Yes, absolutely! ... Camp waste!

You've done a good job with the shed so far.  It'd be a shame to kill it before it's done.  ;)

Pull the nails, stick it in a wood chipper, and use it for either compost or mulch

Generally,  I've been referring to killing off the project, i.e complete it to get rid of it. That said, and given todays progress (or lack thereof) the wood chipper is not an entirely unthinkable option.. :banghead:

But I'll get there, I suppose. One door is ready for installation, i.e hinges and lock, and the other is half way there. And then all remaining works are interior, so somewhat less weather dependent. The reoccurring showers we're having to put up with now are quite frustrating indeed.

Are you perhaps  planning to enter this woodshed in the "Finish It Group Build " ?    As the the blood tests, having  been there, I sympathise.    Been there, done that, got the repeatedly perforated arms!

...Hmmm, check with the mods... It's a scale model, after all - just that it's 1/1 scale and fully functional (Thankyou, Cmdr Data!  :o  )

Worth trying, just for giggles and potentially winding people up! Oh wait, there're no JMNs here... ah well, can't have everything!  ;D

I am really surprised at you, I honestly wouldn't have expected something like that from you  ;)

That will not only go in "The Book", but you'll get your own personalised doodle from now on  ;D

Any chipper worth its salt will go through the nails without noticing they are there.
After all, it needs to be able to mulch leather, bone, and those pesky buckles and buttons...

How do you cut the rebates for the hinges Mr P?  The traditional way with hammer and chisel or do you use a power tool?
I favour doing it by hand (sic) having been taught how to many years ago by the best boss I have worked for.
It can be a very restful process.
