Picked up from Waterstone's Osprey X Planes - Luftwaffe Emergency Fighters. Looks very good and the technical detail is just about at the right level for me. Not to long winded or overly complicated. Some fascinating photographs as well.

Eventually arriving in the post today, the seller said he had been away for a week  :unsure:  I would have thought that a businesses would have made sure it could deliver items or that they were temporally taken off a list or something.... anywho....

Aerofax Sukhoi Su-24 Fencer as I intend to get a kit of one for a real life build though there are a few interesting concepts in the book as well.

What's that pusher amphibian bottom right on the cover?

It looks just like a Republic Seabee, but I didn't think they were 'homebuilt'.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Spencer Air Car, designed by the man who's original pre-WWII design was sold to Republic and became the SeaBee. First homebuilt version 1974.

That kinda of covers it, its a research paper into that period of Naval history covering the strategic and political aspects, the technical stuff can be fund in the David Hobbs books on British carriers and Carrier Strike.

Beyond the Spitfire (The unseen designs of R J Mitchell)  Ralph Pegram     ISBN 9780750965156  from The Works in Gretna.  Damaged cover and uncut pages, so got it for £4.  Lots of potential seaplane and fancy biplane Whiffery.

Anyhoo, from a charity shop:
Alfred Price - Spitfire: An Illustrated History.  Only bought it for a few of the photos, but it was only £2 so can't grumble.  One of which was an 80 Sqn F24 with type C roundels but type D finflash - mine was right after all!

A good buy Lee, it's like a small version of the Morgan and Shacklady book but with better pics.  :thumbsup:

I wasn't sure!  I knew I had one of Price's several books on the Spitfire, just couldn't remember which one.  Still, worth a gamble for a couple of quid.

A copy of Richard Tanner's 'History of Air to Air Refuelling' arrived from ebay at a VERY good price today.

As Mr Tanner worked for Cobham the book totally ignores the Boeing 'Flying Boom' system, and details every single FR Ltd hose drum ever made.  ;D

Now I wonder of there's a thread running on here that I can bury with a few 'facts' from the book............  ;) ;) ;)
