Today arrived an Italeri IAI Kfir C7 I ordered, from an online store. Cheaper than ebay's offererings and also the only other one I found was on Heratage's second hand page, as they wanted £6 postage!! Italeri need their a***s kicking with this kit as it is identical to the C2, it only has the 2 wing pylons and a centre line fuel tank. The Hasegawa, C2 has all 4 wing pylons and a centre pylon. Looks like I am going to have to scratch build the other 6 pylons for this one too  :banghead:.
Chris.

You don't want that old stuff, you should have a snoot for the new kit of the Kfir :-

Received one of my most wanted kits in the post this morning.

1 x 1/72 Monogram F-16XL Fighter. Probably going to be a two seat Israeli aircraft.

Oooh yeah, agreed, glorious score, G. Been trying to snag one myself now for some time! They're either hard to find or priced like it's made of gold bullion.

This is available at a reasonable price so far  ;D

I could be wrong. But isnt the seller Bungle, normaly of this parish?

Indeed it is (or was !). I was hoping for a tenner for it, with 6 seconds to go it was £17.50...... sold for £29.76 !

Ebay still amazes me.

I am tempted by one of those, but finding one for right cash put me off. I will treat myself to one I think eventually. Cheers Geoff.

That's not correct. The C7 kit comes with full canards and the dogtooth wing, while the C2/F-21 only has the small delta vanes and the original wing (no dog tooth, only a slit in the leading edge). Ordnance differs, too, even though marginally. The Italeri Kfor ain't bad, but a big PITA is the intescetion between the fuselage, wing and air intakes. The Hasegawa kit has IMHO a better fit, but it is not light years ahead. BTW, not all Kfirs had full seven pylons. IIRC the inner wing stations were retrofitted and not standard equipment.

chrisonord

I have already built the Italeri F-21 kit, and just finished building the Hasegawa C2 Kfir kit. They differ considerably, especially at the canards as the Hasegawa one has bigger canards and the dog tooth edge on the wing. I have been trawling the net for pictures of the load outs and pylons for the C7, and all came up with the 9 pylons. Looks like either Hasegawa have got it wrong somewhere or have boxed the wrong kit in the C.2 box then.

This aint much..... but... it sure is cool, if you ask me!

I scored a junk lot off eBay for $6 and another $4 in shipping. It arrived today!

1/144 C-5 Galaxy scraps. But dare I say, as far as kit bashing goes, the most omportant scraps! Both wings and all 4 complete engines accounted for.       Also, it came with box scraps, the instructions, the sheet of transfers which look to be nice and were sealed up, all the wheels (which just happen to be perfect size for 1/72 things like piston fighters) and a slew of the other small parts like.. struts type things and some of the gear doors, and some other stuff.

Oh, and a Grumman S2F-1 Tracker sans transfers which is great..... it was cheaper, and now it's most certainly going to be an alternate scheme whif.

(And a sealed Novo Miles Master.... never seen a Novo kit in such good shape ;D ;D ;D  )

Went to the hobby store today to browse around and wasn't expecting to buy anything due to being low on money. But what do I find on the shelf that caught my eye?  :o  I couldn't help it. I NEEDED IT! I've been trying desperately to get my hands on a 1/144 scale MiG-17 for so long. Now I can add it to my collection of other 1/144 scale aircraft kits for a special Area 51/Groom Lake display to eventually be built sometime in the future.
Sad thing is, now I just shorted myself on grocery money. :(

Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Several thoughts  here:
A) I'm looking forward to the Area 51 diorama, whenever it happens.
B)You have taken the advice of the late great Oscar Wilde " The only sensible thing to do with temptation is to give way to it"
C) Grocery deficit?  Unless you are seriously underweight, the medical conspiracyprofession reckon that you can survive on 1000 calorie a day for some time.

Flow chart's almost there!

To properly display the angst of the true modeller in a model shopping environment the arrow away from the "You must be mistaken" diamond should point straight back at the "Do you really need another model kit?" rectangle.

Well, that's what happens to me. I've stood for hours in a model shop (& on line, too) picking up & putting back the same models over & over as that sequence has gone through my head. I'm sure everyone else in the store thought I was crazy ..... They may be right!

I built the Amodel Yak-130, pain in the proverbial to build, but nice when done. It languishes in the planes with missing bits boxes, as loads of parts went missing during storage. Where did you get it from Martin/Geoff? I wouldn't mind one of those.
Had a nosey in a charity shop whilst dawdling around town. Come out with a 1/72nd scale Revel A-26 Invader, Airfix red stripe Handley Page Jet stream, and Vigilante, also airfix red stripe. 3 quid each for the airfix kits as they thought they might be worth something, 2 quid for the A-26. Also from Colin at Freightdog, 6 resin mirage IFR probes arrived for much cheapness, and very swift service
Cheers
