Got two Revell DH Vampire F.3 yesterday for €7.49 each which might have been a bargain.
Looks to be a good kit, it contains extra parts blanked off on the instruction sheet but on the sprues, like RPG's, squared off wing tips and drop tanks, plus the extended intake for a tropical vampire (FB.9) so a FB.5 and 9 As well as the F.3 should be possible. Also contains a clear nose section as well as a normal molded one. Not sure what that's about? Or did some of the Swiss ones have a transparent nose? Don't think there was a PR Vampire? Although obviously one could Wiff one
markings are for 601 and 608 RAuxAF both in High speed silver with Sqn. Bars.
Moldings by MPM according to the sprues.
Might be worth laying down a few, especially if you have model decal sheets 100 and 101 ;)
I do, so I might if I find some more....
Regards
Keith
The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

Ebay has just informed me I've won the pile of Spitfire spares I was bidding on, which included a complete Airkit Spitfire F21.

Nice!

The seller describes it as a pile of dross with some gems.  Only dross I can see is a few bits left from MPM's abortion of an 18, plenty of wing uppers from several Vbs and a PM Vb fuselage half.  Most of it appears to be some real gems. The Airkit F21, an Airkit Aboukir filter, Aeroclub Merlin engines and props, a Heller 16 fuselage, a set of AZ u/c bay liners (handy as I want to mould a set), various props, spare rudders, some canopies.  AND there's some Tempest and Typhoon bits in there.  Surprisingly, few wheels.

Yes, though I'll be passing them to a mate who likes Luftwaffe 46 floaty things for some strange reason.  I've plenty of floats for Spitfires.  The best ones - and certainly the cheapest - are the ones in the Eastern Express Spitfire Floatplane.  Throw the Spitfire away, because it's the old Frog mk Ia/Va but the floats will; fit any other kit.  I've done it at least twice.

Not sure what to do with the 410 ? French AF desert scheme ? Or maybe a Thai one, handed over after the 10 day French-Thai "War" in January 1941 ?

Having just finished the SAM article on the MS 406 I now know that the Belgian's aquired a licence to build them both for their own Air Force and the French, but never proceded. So maybe a Belgian one but in Hurricane style camouflage ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Following a tip off from Falcon (Chris P) I popped down the hill to the local Aldi and picked up a pair of Airfix Jet Provost Gift Sets for £4.99 each
