Finally managed to track down a late edition Airfix Puma with the newer markings and the Air Filter set that Heller added, also had a Skyfall merlin delivered to complete the collection of Merlin kits.

EDIT:

WHOA WHOA, that's too much of a coincidence, hold up. I just remembered.....  About 6 months ago I went on a search for hobby shops in Oklahoma. The one that I found that interested me the most was in.... OWASSO:

Have you got the Italeri Merlin HC.3, with the extra FLIR, ECM and refuelling probe?

The Wooksta!

Quick rundown of acquisitions since Monday...

From Uncle frank
kitsworld Hurricane decal sheet - largely for the two Persian aircraft, one of which is a two seater...

2 Airfix Jet Provosts - hostage swaps for something bought from TK Maxx on monday for a mate.

Ebay informed me that I'd won the following:
KP/AZ Spitfire mk IXe Czech combo (3 in a box plus decals for 21 aircraft)
Sword Spitfire mk XIVc/e Highback
Skybirds 86 DH Hornet F3 - I know the guy who's selling it and I was really just trying to bump the price up for him.  Still, better in my stash than someone else's.
Lend Lease Spitfires - several Russian themed aircraft plus some etched belts.

A final trawl of the local TK Maxx stores - I ventured to Cramlington for this:
Airfix Avro Shackleton MR2 - tucked away in the toys, on the bottom shelf at the back behind some Revell Star Wars kits.

And finally, a trip to my local ALDI got me the last three Spitfire mk Ia starter sets.

Got a camo'd AZ SR53 from Colin this morning.

You'll never make a profit if you keep on using packing boxes that big Colin, I thought you'd sent me a 1/48 scale one.  ;D ;)

Finally picked up a Fleetscale package from the sorting office:

4 x 1/72nd Sea Dart (resin)
4 x 1/72nd Sea Cat (white metal)

The Sea Darts are nice, although the panel lines on the body are a bit deep.

The Sea Cats are mostly okay, but they're cast with the circular base plates integral with them and the tail fins are big random, so cutting the plates off will probably trash them. Shouldn't be much of a problem to replace them though, since they're dead square.

Two of the Sea Cats are going to be mounted on the side of a Wasp helicopter (real project called Hellcat) when S&M's finaly comes out.

I generally don't like to announce my stash additions here until I have them in my hands.  It is particularly annoying then that a box full of Hasegawa "Box Art & Font" kits has so far taken 9 days to travel from Sydney to Melbourne.
I could cycle it quicker than that (OK, so i'd need a long period of hospital rest afterwards).
Investigation has revealed that the parcel got as far as the Victorian central parcel depot before doing a 180 degree turn and heading back to Sydney.  Upon reaching Sydney it repeated the manoeuvre and is now headed back South again.
On line parcel tracking is a wonderfull thing but can also be very frustrating.
An extra level of irony is added when you consider I am currently employed by Australia Post...

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Picked up another Airfix Sea King HC4 "Commando" when at the LMS at the weekend. Will probably do it real and back date it and have it go alongside some of the projects I have lined up  ;).

Also snagged another Trumpeter CH-47A off eBay as they are not that readily available at the moment. This will probably be the basis of another Gnome engine version to go alongside the ASW one I just did.

Been wanting to do a 1/72 Wasp for ages, many years ago Fujimi were supposed to do one --- wasn't there a conversion too for the Scout?

Why ?????

Anyway a large box all the way from the U.S.A. containing a Fantastic Plastic 1/144 Vickers Type C Bomber  ;D

Plan is Tiger Force ; white over black with BPF roundels and thus based on Iwo Jima (as discussed with the Wookster). However whilst on my way home from the pub yesterday afternoon a plan struck me. Tiger Force but on their return to the U.K. after the Japanese surrender in 19?? and all ready to take part in the Victory flypast. White over black but with large "tiger" markings on either the nose or the tail fins (I have plenty). Probably have normal rather than BPF roundels though ?

We shall see. No hope of progress before 2018  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

There was, Airwaves did one in white metal and very good it was too.

I had a Hornby Q1 chassis arrive today, eventually destined for another of my Whiffed locomotives.

I thought so Kit, and I thought I had one but all I can find in the stash is some Airwaves missiles for the Scout. I know I bought a Scout to do the conversion --- actually I had bought two of them --- hmm! I wonder what happened to them now
