Back from Huddersfield late yesterday and don't even talk to me about Leeds and TGFI's  :banghead: :banghead:

Couple of additions to the stash (also got a bit for Hank and his son Max  ;D)

Italeri 1/72 La 5 times 2. From the same second hand trader. I only want the engines and cowlings for my Soviet GB build, so loads for the spares boxes.
Revell (Monogram) 1/72 Tigercat via Aircav. I've done a FAA overall Gloss Sea Blue so not sure about this one. EDSG over Sky ?
AZ Me 1/72 109H-1. I got this at Telford but it somehow ended up with Aircav for a couple of months

For the pile and with vague intentions: a Dragon 1:72 Jagdpanzer IV (for a profound Heer '46 chassis and gun update), a MACO 1:72 Flakpanzer "Ostwind" (actually a re-boxed ESCI kit with a new turret) and some metal gun barrels for a conversion into "something different".

What about a FAA post war night fighter scheme of overall Medium Sea Grey with Dark Slate Grey Disruptive camo on the upper surfaces ?

Heller Arado Ar 196 (will be Finnish w. Bristol Mercury)
That... actually makes perfect sense. Plus it would have been a much better subhunting platform than looted I-153's and SB-2's in OTL.
It's going post war aluminium.  And no swastikas.
Interesting to hear the backstory for this - kept beyond the original timeline then? There were three Ar's on loan to GHQ Finnish Army for LRRP support so were technically not part of the Air Force; one was returned to the Germans in 1943, the other in 1944, the third was "returned" to the Soviet Union in early 1945.

Re-engining them with domestically produced Mercury copies makes even more sense in that scenario if there were more and/or if they were kept longer.

Plus NMF/aluminium FAF planes are a neglected modelling subject so the more the merrier ;D

The Wooksta!

Not worrying about a backstory for that one - I know so little about Finnish aircraft that anything I could come up with would be about three lines long.

It is the one with a little jeep included. Made for a nice little surprise when I opened it.
I already have the MU-2J kit which I think is the stretched passenger version.

The instructions for the HU-2J "Flight Check Group" version that I have says that the MU-2 was a business aircraft.

Like those Mu 2 kits a lot, free Toyota aircraft tug in the J. My old J business prop became a T-tail jet courtesy of a couple of Frog Ar234B engines.

New at my Stash.

Hi

What's the T-29 E3 like ?

That could be an interesting WWII46-47 What-if Build or a Cold War build for either Korea or maybe the Middle East

I like the look of that. I have a thing about multi turreted tanks  ;D

Added a Airfix 1/72 Beaufighter "Firedog" boxing to the stash as a bit of retail therapy and it looked lonely in Smiths.
