2 x 1/72 Airfix BAC Strikemaster kits in the same box. An ebay win which will be most likely real world, but not guaranteed.

Strikemaster Zwilling

Noooooo  :banghead:

I agree Gondor. Zwilling Strikemaster is well no one's cuppa.

Airfix 40mm Bofors and tow vehicle.  75p in a Hay on Wye charity shop.  It may be a real world Bofors, but the Morris towing vehicle might be acquired by the LRDG and "upgraded"

Two Airfix Gladiator in the mkI/II boxing (the one with the Swedish and RAF Glads complete with skis and under wing guns) for a very reasonable price from that well known buy anything site
Probably to re-equip the RAuxAF/RAF after the success of the peace for our time piece of paper. (In which the dark clouds of WWII turn into fluffy white clouds......)
I have the Modeldecals RAuxAF sheets and model alliance 'silver wings' decal sheets to assist in the confusion

(I might even do rigging :o)
The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Acting on advice received from Thorvic, Tom Z and Chrisonord I dropped into the LHS today and picked up a Hobby Boss 1/72 A-7P Corsair II.
First impression on ripping open the box is that it looks great with good crisp detail, open gun(?) bays and two full sprues of bombs and tanks.
Box is on the large side but then it's the standard Hobby Boss box size they use for middle sized 1/72 and smaller 1/48.
First thought is RAN FAA in Vietnam.  Either the usual DSG over Sky or maybe SEA camo.

I also picked up an Academy 1/72 HEMTT on an impulse.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

See said it was a nice kit , you could go with the later disruptive A-4G Skyhawk scheme, the RAAF Canberra scheme of Green camo on extra dark sea grey or you could follow the RN Buccaneer example with the overall Dark Sea Grey with RAN markings but with the Pale Blue codes. Whichever scheme you settle on it should be a nice build.

Oh finally managed to get my hands on the Dragon USS Antietam CV-36  kit in 1/700. This is their standard Essex class kit with the updated Island, Jet aircraft and the first angled deck. Unfortunately it only served as proof of concept ship and later went to the training role before being replaced in the 60s by Lexington. Thus she does not have the full SCB-125 conversion with the modernised island the broader beam, hurricane bows and the 2nd deck edge lift aft of the Island.

I just remembered why I wanted this kit and its to do an SBC-125 USS Shangri-La but after she had been modernised in the late 60s to replace HMS Ark Royal and modified for the Phantom F-4K & Buccaneer.

I think this is a limited re-issue of the kit as I found it on Luckymodel from their Chinese mainland stock and took about 3 months to get to HK for despatch. I noticed that they have dropped the optional clear flight deck option that was included on the first release of the kit, which is a shame as I could have used those bits on another standard Essex kit  :banghead:

1/72 Academy A-10 OIF and Hasegawa F-106 Delta Dart. Both probably going to be non-whiffed.

Yesterday arrived my whim buy Armourfast T-34's, not bad little kits considering they are quick builds. The tracks look ok too, and a welcome change to me is that there is no individual track pieces to make a mess of. One will get the same treatment as my T-34 XL and get widened, modded turret and a bigger gun, the other I was thinking of putting a pair of ZSU-23mm cannon, or 37 mm cannons in either a new turret or modifying the original, and using it as an infantry support vehicle, or.. airfield defense, something  I seem to have a lack of really, as I have only done one T-34 AAA, and a Ural truck AAA, so far. These vehicles don't need to be fast, they just need to get themselves to the captured or current Cartel air base, and be able to move themselves into position, be it permanently, or to be able to move around so as not to become a fixed target to attack aircraft. I have some WW2 Russian tank Turrets that will get used  as air base defense also.

I was quite impressed with the ones I got at the recent Southern Show

It would be nice if they did some more modern stuff too Chris.

One man's meat, Chris  ;)

I was on the look out for some early War British or French stuff. I got some "Plastic Soldier" A9 Cruisers a while back and they are of a similar style.

From Starling Models  I picked up the former WEM and new Atlantic Models Type 22 Batch 1 frigate HMS Brilliant. I hadn't realised I never got round to getting one so was missing it from my modern RN Destroyer and Frigate collection.
