The memory of Godzilla and Cosworth Sierras at Bathurst would almost have me buying a layout like that.

They should run F1 races at Bathurst, it's a REAL race track, not like the current rash of flat, ultra-wide and boring Tilkedromes we have now.  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

It would be spectacular but will never happen.  Too little run-off for them going over the mountain.  OK, so its no worse than at Monaco but Bathurst doesn't have the billion dollar real estate surrounding it.
Also it would be difficult for them to build that great big wall they erect to ensure only those paying for grandstand seats get a decent view of the racing.

Here's a F3 lap though to wet your whistle.

Terrific link there Fred, thanks so much.

Some of the comments under it are good for laughs, I didn't know Jenson had done a demo there in an F1 car, that's GOT to have been worth seeing! What's the lap time for a V8 round there these days?

We ought to have this lot filed off into a separate thread perhaps, it's anything BUT about stash increases any more.

[Later] I found three vids of Jenson's lap, but can't get this crazy laptop to link them.  :banghead: He did it in 1 min 48.88 secs!!!  :o :o

Thread Hijack?  Me?
 (in lieu of a whistling innocently emoji).

Jensen Button McLaren (2010?) lap here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4XVF3jJL5Q

Current official lap record is 2.01.5670 by Shane Van Gisbergen in a GT3 McLaren in 2016.
Current V8SC lap record is 2.06.2769 by David Reynolds in a Holden Comodore in 2016.

The Jensen Button lap is 1.48.88 but is unofficial as it wasn't set during a race.

They used to race Formula 5000 there which must have been a sight to see.  There must be footage existing but I can't find any on You Tube.
Formula 5000 lap record is 2.09.7 by Niel Allen in a McLaren Chevrolet in 1970 (before Conrod Straight got the Chase put into it in 1987).

The Wooksta!

Off ebay:

Eduard Spitfire mk VIII combo - book and decals only.

Considering that the decal sheet has 30 options, was worth getting at the tenner I paid - postage was free!  The book may be resold later to recoup the costs.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Just had delivered the selection of Combrig 1/700 Russian warships I ordered via Starling Models.

Picked up a couple of corvettes, a minesweeper, another Neustrashimy class Frigate and a cold war favourite the Kara class ASW cruiser

NARSES2

Airfix 1/72 A.W. Whitley GR.MK VIII

Got this direct from Hornby as I had a 20% discount voucher for completing a survey (which was more like a MENSA test  :o) and very impressed by the service. I ordered it on Tuesday and Hornby emailed me Wednesday to say it had been dispatched. Yesterday I got and email/txt telling me it would be delivered today and then first thing this morning one that told me the 1 hour window it would arrive in. This enabled me to log in and check exactly where the driver was - slightly scary - but the kit arrived well within the window so I'm happy  ;D Well done to Hornby and the parcel service they use

Some Yahu instrument panels, if these work out I can see me getting a lot more.

Resin 7.62mm flex ammo feeds, for a Quad M-60 conversion... some day...

Army Painter Battlefield Shrubs/Grass tufts for figure/diorama bases.

Testors Flouro Red paint for the Antarctic Weasel.

won an airfix starter kit of the P-51D mustang, £2.98 I think it were. Had a thing for turbo prop mustangs, and thought, I could stretch this thing, make it a 2 seater, convert to a turbo prop with contra blades, and put some tip tanks and hardpoints on. Been rooting through the spare canopy stash and not a great deal in there that is narrow enough, unless, as well as lengthen it, I make the cockpit part of the plane wider and build in some narrowing plugs for the front and rear fuselage, as I want to put bang seats in also

If you're going that far Chris, why not start with an F-82 fuselage, it's already stretched for you

Weaver

Been buying on Ebay again, mostly trying to find things I can sell, but a few things have found their way into my stash too, including the following:

Heller 1/72nd Mirage IIIE - got various projects in mind involving these.

Master Box 1/35th Skull Clan - To Catch a Thief figures.
This is not normally my thing, but I had to save them for whiffdom... It's is an incomplete set of post-apocalyptic figures designed to go with a BMW sidecar outfit. The guy riding the bike and the girl in the sidecar waving a mace are chasing down an old guy who's nicked some food from them. The thief is missing from this set (hence why it was cheap), but the other two figures plus the sidecar conversion parts (to an open-frame off-road type) are all there.

Monogram 1/24th (?) Garbage Truck Custom Car.
This was a cock-up on my part. I thought I was going to sell this on for a profit but I didn't read the auction properly and it turns out to be missing loads of parts, including the wheels, surfboards, garbage-can fuel tanks and scuba tanks. Oh well, at least it was cheap....

HOWEVER

Looking at it alongside the Skull Clan figures, it strikes me that the Garbage Truck is seriously under-scale, to the point where the former look like they'd fit it pretty well. Being multi-part figures, it should be possible to modify the rider into a driver, and I've got plently of wheels/tracks/whatever, so I might get a post-apocalyptic 'beach buggy' type project out of this yet...
