Not strictly a stash addition but it relates.
Today I received a 1/50 die cast Scooby Doo Mystery Machine by Hot Wheels Elite One.  This is almost the perfect size to accompany the Hasslefree Miniatures 28mm Armed Scooby Gang I am almost finished painting.

Today arrived my copy of modeling tanks and military vehicles by Sheperd Payne. Unfortunately I paid over the odds for this book via ebay, and to be honest the subjects in the book are not what I build or in the scale I build. The odd bits that are are not really looked in to in any detail. Never mind, something to fill the book shelf, and a lesson learned, I hope  :banghead: Also my second Italeri MIG-37 arrived too, so not all bad.

Revell 1/72 glow in the dark pirate ghost ship.

Another major part of my long term Sky Pirates airship.
The glow in the dark paint is not needed for the airship but I feel I will be unable to resist its use on something else.

I always thought when I saw that package that the plastic itself glows in the dark :banghead:

How dark does it need to be for the paint glow to be noticed? I'm now thinking of eg. using the paint at the inside end of a long exhaust pipe/rocket motor/thruster of a sci-fi spaceship (or Pluto-SLAM for a more real-world concept) to show "reactor glow".

Your not the only one  :banghead:
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I suppose I thought that too.  It certainly doesn't say on the box in big letters "NEEDS PAINTING WITH GLOWY PAINT".
The paint is white until exposed to light.
I held it under the kitchen light for 10 seconds and it glowed green brightly enough to be seen if one cup does hands around the jar.
I think it would work on an engine exhaust or reactor but you might need to "charge it up" with a torch or other light source.
My local DIY warehouse sells tins of glow in the dark paint.  They keep it with the "special effects" paints - the rust effect and verdigris and stuff like that.

Weathering using hairspray or salt with glowing paint as the base coat exposed by the weathering could be interesting.

Ever so often I set the max price to $5 on Ebay and see what I can find. For some reason this ignores shipping even when I select the "list by price lowest to hightest combined with shipping."  But anyway..

Happened across this thing for $6.03 total, shipping and all! I couldn't pass that up.

Good ol' Soviet rocket plane. I found that it was the BI-1.  Cool.

I keep buying planes to build for the Soviet GB but I don't think I'll be able to actually build them all, but we'll see!

Uncle Frank has a Fly Bf 108 double kit waiting for me.  Largely bought for the large and varied decal sheet which includes three RAF ones.

This is now in my grubby paws, along with another Eduard Weekend Spitfire IXc late.

Forgot to add that Frank also passed me the largely complete remains of a Matchbox Beaufighter, with some additional bits.  No canopy but I've found an Aeroclub set in one of the Beaufighter boxes I tidied it away into.

Thinking about cloning the high Planes resin turret section for a late turret Beaufighter with Hercules engines and the Matchbox kit is an ideal subject.

Powered by Red Fuming Nitric Acid and Kerosene, a lovely cocktail that literally ate the engines!

I have a couple of Pioneer 2 Bi-1 kits in the stash but these are bagged and you also get a pair in the pack, one for tail rocket and one for wingtip rockets. Eastern Express, Skarab, Maquette and Hobby all do models of these. These are tiny in 1/72.
